On June 26, the 2026 Volvo XC60 PHEV was officially launched. The new car comes in three versions, with an official guide price of 523,900–603,900 RMB (≈ 72,000–83,000 USD), but for a limited time, the reference “exclusive price” is 354,900–434,900 RMB (≈ 48,800–59,800 USD).

Earlier, on June 7, the new XC60 gasoline version was launched with five trims, priced at 396,900–474,900 RMB (≈ 54,600–65,300 USD), with a limited-time range of 254,900–425,900 RMB (≈ 35,000–58,600 USD) until June 30. At the same time, Volvo also released a limited-time reference price for the gasoline models, bringing the range down to 254,900–324,900 RMB (≈ 35,000–44,700 USD).
Background
The Volvo XC60 is a mid-size SUV that first entered domestic production in China in November 2014, priced between 366,900–539,900 RMB. The second generation launched in December 2017, with T4, T5, and T8 versions across eight trims, priced between 369,900–609,900 RMB.
The 2026 model is a yearly facelift, featuring upgrades in styling and configuration. It continues with the 2.0T engine + electric motor plug-in hybrid system.
Design
Exterior: Updated with a cross-pattern grille, inspired by the XC90. Sport trims feature a black grille, while luxury trims use chrome. Both feature Volvo’s iconic “Thor’s Hammer” LED headlights.
Side Profile: Streamlined with a rising waistline and coupe-style roofline. Wheel sizes range from 18–21 inches. Dimensions remain the same as the 2025 model: 4708 × 1902 × 1656 mm, with a 2865 mm wheelbase.
Rear: Refreshed design with a “Viking Axe” LED taillight signature, dual spoilers, hidden exhaust, and sporty styling.
Interior: Major updates include replacing the old 9-inch display with an 11.2-inch floating central screen, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. New features include AI voice assistant “XiaoWo,” a new multifunction steering wheel, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, Orrefors crystal gear shifter, and driftwood interior trim for a modern, premium look. The layout is 2+3 seating, with upgraded materials and reduced physical buttons.

With its upgrades, the 2026 XC60 PHEV will compete directly against rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLC PHEV and Lexus NX PHEV.

Retail data shows:
Jan–May 2025, the XC60 was Volvo’s best-seller in China, with 27,263 units sold.
Followed by Volvo S60 (9,536 units) and S90 (7,287 units).
Plug-in hybrid sales: XC60 PHEV (3,199 units) and S90 PHEV (1,209 units).
