On September 15, Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. (“Dongfeng Honda”) held a management meeting to announce changes in its leadership team. Zheng Hongyi, Head of the Party Committee Organization Department at Dongfeng Motor Corporation (“Dongfeng”), announced the following appointments:

Wang Binbin has been appointed Executive Officer of Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. and will no longer serve as Party Secretary, Party Committee Member, or Chairman of the Labor Union.
Pan Jianxin has been appointed Party Secretary and nominee for Chairman of the Labor Union, and will step down as Director and Executive Vice President of Dongfeng Honda.
Cao Dongjie has been appointed Director of Dongfeng Honda and recommended as Executive Vice President.
Public information about Wang Binbin and Pan Jianxin remains limited, but Cao Dongjie was previously the CEO of Mengshi Technology. Since 2022, Cao has served as CEO of Mengshi Technology, as well as the legal representative of Mengshi Automotive Sales and Service Co., Ltd. and Dongfeng Motor Group’s Mengshi Automotive Technology Company. During his tenure, he oversaw the launch of Mengshi Technology’s first model, the Mengshi 917. On September 12, Dongfeng Mengshi held a management meeting announcing that Cao would step down as General Manager to take up a new position.
Dongfeng Honda is one of Dongfeng Motor Group’s key joint ventures. It was established in July 2003, with Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd. holding 50% of shares, Honda Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. holding 10%, and Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (Japan) holding 40%. Its product lineup includes CR-V, Civic, Inspire, UR-V, Elysion, Lingxi L, e:NS2, and S7, covering multiple market segments.
According to Dongfeng Motor Group, total vehicle sales from January to August 2025 reached 1.1386 million units, down 5.0% year-on-year. Of this, Dongfeng Honda sold 199,700 vehicles, a 27.6% YoY decline. Retail data shows that CR-V sales reached 111,700 units in the first eight months, while Civic and Inspire sales were 34,000 and 28,500 units, respectively.
With NEVs (new energy vehicles) becoming the mainstream choice for Chinese consumers, Honda is accelerating its electrification strategy in China. Dongfeng Motor Group stated that this round of personnel adjustments is part of its normal rotation mechanism, aimed at optimizing management systems and strengthening the execution of corporate strategy. Dongfeng Honda added that the changes would further leverage shareholder resources, enhance cross-business synergies, and continue to drive its transformation toward electrification and intelligence.
