China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has issued its latest recall notice, involving Ford Motor (China) Co., Ltd. and Porsche (China) Motors Ltd.

Ford Recalls
Ford Motor (China) announced a series of recalls, effective immediately:
Lincoln Navigator (2022–2024 models):
A total of 2,264 vehicles produced between December 7, 2021 and August 16, 2024 will be recalled. In affected vehicles, the right front brake line may interfere with the air filter outlet pipe, causing wear and potential brake fluid leakage. This could reduce braking performance and increase collision risk. Authorized Lincoln dealers will inspect and adjust the brake line layout, and replace parts if necessary, free of charge.
Lincoln Navigator (2018–2022 models):
43 vehicles built between November 3, 2017 and September 2, 2022 are recalled.
Ford F-150 (2018–2020 models):
35 vehicles built between October 10, 2017 and July 24, 2020 are recalled.
Ford Mustang (2018–2022 models):
5 vehicles built between February 15, 2018 and April 25, 2022 are recalled.
For these models, steering issues may occur due to software deviations in replacement electronic power steering assemblies installed during after-sales servicing. The defect could cause the steering wheel to oscillate rapidly without warning. Authorized Ford and Lincoln dealers will provide free software updates for the steering control modules.
Lincoln Navigator (2015–2017 models):
2,556 vehicles built between December 4, 2014 and June 25, 2017 are recalled due to a manufacturing defect in the welcome light seal inside exterior mirrors. Poor sealing may allow liquid intrusion, leading to a short circuit and potential fire hazard. Authorized Lincoln dealers will disconnect the welcome light connections to eliminate risk.
Porsche Recalls
Porsche (China) Motors Ltd. announced the recall of 1,248 vehicles, including Panamera and Taycan models produced between December 19, 2024 and April 30, 2025. In affected vehicles, the retaining clip of the front shock absorber strut may not be fully seated, potentially causing air leakage from the air suspension. This could impair handling and increase collision risk. Authorized Porsche dealers will inspect the installation and carry out necessary repairs free of charge.
Background
Porsche entered the Chinese market in 2001, which has since become its largest global market. The company achieved record sales in 2021 with 95,671 vehicles delivered. However, sales in China have been declining since 2022, when deliveries dropped 2.5% to 93,286 units, marking the first decline since entering the market. The downturn worsened in 2023 with a 15% year-on-year decline, and in 2024 sales fell to 56,900 units, 40% below the 2021 peak. In the first half of 2025, Porsche sold only 21,302 units in China, down 28% year-on-year, representing just 14.6% of its global sales, compared with a peak of 30%.
