All-New Luxury Flagship! Leap Motor Officially Announces

On September 21, Leap Motor released a series of camouflage photos of its new model. The new car was officially named the Leap Motor D19 on September 19. Built on the Leap Motor D platform, the D19 is a full-size SUV and will be Leap Motor’s new flagship model, with an expected price range of ¥250,000 to ¥300,000. The vehicle is scheduled to make its global debut on October 16.

Leap Motor’s Senior Vice President, @Cao Li_Leap Motor, stated that the D19 is capable of competing with models priced above ¥500,000. Earlier, he mentioned that this car is Leap Motor’s first flagship product aimed at the ¥300,000 price range and will feature the most advanced technology in the industry. However, as of this release, only the camouflage photos have been revealed, and information about the new car remains limited.

From the official camouflage images, the car’s exterior design follows the brand’s family style, featuring a closed grille and a full-width daytime running light design, with segmented headlights. The front hood forms a U-shaped line, showcasing a unique design language that gives it a striking visual effect. Additionally, the front bumper includes an air intake grille, while the roof is equipped with lidar, and side-view cameras are installed on the front fenders, indicating an impressive driving experience. Notably, the car will feature a large front trunk that is fully electronically controlled, with space for two 20-inch suitcases. The overall lines and stance give the car a stable and powerful aura.

On the side, the new model is equipped with hidden door handles, large wheels, and a roof-mounted luggage rack. The tires are Continental EC7S series with a specification of 265/45 R21, giving the car a solid and elegant look. While official dimensions have not been released, as a new flagship model, the car is expected to exceed 5 meters in length. At the rear, the design is simple with a full-width tail light strip and the Leap Motor brand logo. A rear spoiler and a hidden rear wiper enhance its streamlined appearance.

Inside, the spy photos reveal that the car will feature a floating design for both the full LCD instrument panel and the central touchscreen. It will also include a four-spoke steering wheel and a shift-by-wire gear lever. Additionally, the car will have button-type door handles, and the seats will feature a split design to cater to personalized consumer preferences.

Regarding power, the official details have not been disclosed yet. It is expected that the new model will be equipped with two Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797 chips.

Earlier, Leap Motor’s founder, Zhu Jiangming, disclosed that the D-series flagship models would enter mass production in the first quarter of 2026. He also mentioned that the D-series represents the highest level of technology with many innovative features. As the new flagship model, the Leap Motor D19 will face stiff competition after its launch, particularly as more automakers are introducing full-size SUVs in 2025. Based on the positioning of the D19, it is expected to compete with models like the Geely Galaxy M9, Deep Blue S09, and Leado L90.

Since its establishment, Leap Motor has launched several models, including the Leap Motor C11, T03, C16, C10, C01, B10, and B01. Among them, the B series is a new lineup launched this year and plays a key role in driving sales growth. The Leap Motor B10 and B01, launched in April and July, respectively, are positioned as compact SUVs and compact sedans.

In addition to these models, Leap Motor has unveiled a new model, the Leap Motor Lafa5, at the 2025 Munich Auto Show and started blind orders. The Lafa5, based on the LEAP 3.5 platform, is a compact hatchback that retains the family design language while incorporating more international design elements. The car will be powered by pure electric power. It is planned to be launched in the domestic market in the fourth quarter of this year and will enter more global markets next year. Additionally, Leap Motor is planning an MPV product based on the D platform.

According to official data, Leap Motor’s cumulative sales from January to August this year reached 328,900 units, a year-on-year increase of 136.43%. The company’s annual sales target for this year is 500,000 to 600,000 vehicles, with the aim of achieving profitability by the end of the year.
