ajor Structural Overhaul! Auto Giant Makes Official Announcement

On October 8, Stellantis Group officially announced an adjustment to its leadership structure. The company revealed that Jean-Philippe Imparato will now fully dedicate himself to driving the performance of the Maserati brand and “Stellantis&You,” taking on the role of CEO of Maserati and reporting to Emanuele Cappellano. Meanwhile, Emanuele Cappellano will continue leading the Group’s Pro One commercial vehicle business and has been appointed as the Group’s head for Europe and European brands.

In October 2024, Stellantis Group had already announced that Imparato would serve as the Chief Operating Officer for the European region and continue as the CEO of the Group’s Pro One commercial vehicle business. Following the new appointment, he will hold the roles of Chief Operating Officer for the European region, CEO of the Pro One commercial vehicle business, and CEO of the Maserati brand.

Maserati, one of Italy’s ultra-luxury brands, was founded in December 1914 in Bologna, and its headquarters is now in Modena. Since its inception, Maserati has had a tumultuous history, being acquired or partially owned by various Italian industrialists, Citroën, Chrysler, and Fiat. In 2014, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) acquired Maserati, allowing the brand to survive. Later, Fiat Chrysler merged with PSA to form Stellantis, making Maserati a part of Stellantis. Maserati’s current lineup includes models such as the GranTurismo coupe and its convertible version GranCabrio, the Grecale SUV, and the low-volume MC20 sports car. Notably, Maserati is Stellantis’ only ultra-luxury brand, and there have been repeated rumors in the market about Stellantis potentially selling Maserati due to operational difficulties. However, in June, a Stellantis spokesperson clearly stated, “Maserati is not for sale.”

In addition to the above leadership changes, Stellantis Group announced several other new appointments. Grégoire Olivier, currently the Group’s Strategic Leader and Senior Advisor for the China market, has been appointed as the Group’s Head for China and the Asia-Pacific region, and he will become a member of the Group’s leadership team.

Moreover, Francesco Ciancia will return to Stellantis from Mercedes-Benz on November 1, 2025, to assume the role of Head of Global Manufacturing. Stellantis’ current Head of Global Manufacturing, Arnaud Deboeuf, will be leaving the Group. Ciancia brings over 20 years of global leadership experience in manufacturing engineering, plant management, and the application of lean production systems. He worked for FCA and Stellantis from 2001, holding various roles, including plant manager at the Kragujevac plant in Serbia, Head of Latin American manufacturing, and manufacturing leader for Maserati and other high-end brands in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In 2022, he joined Mercedes-Benz, where he was responsible for the van business in Stuttgart and initiated a transformation of the company’s production network.

Stellantis was formed by the merger of PSA (Peugeot Citroën) and FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) in January 2021, with a 50:50 ownership split. The Group includes 14 brands such as Jeep, Maserati, Peugeot, Citroën, Alfa Romeo, and Chrysler, covering the full range from ultra-luxury to light commercial vehicles. After Carlos Tavares resigned as Stellantis’ CEO in December 2024, the Group began taking a series of measures to streamline its organizational structure, including several high-level personnel changes.

The newly formed leadership team of Stellantis includes:

Antonio Filosa as CEO of the Group, Head of North America and U.S. Brands

Emanuele Cappellano as Head of Europe, European Brands, and Stellantis Pro One Commercial Vehicle Business

Herlander Zola as Head of South America

Samir Cherfan as Head of Middle East, Africa, and Micro Mobility Business

Grégoire Olivier as Head of China and Asia-Pacific

Davide Mele as Head of Product Planning

Ned Curic as Head of Product Development and Technology

Sébastien Jacquet as Head of Quality

Monica Genovese as Head of Procurement

Scott Thiele as Head of Supply Chain

Francesco Ciancia as Head of Global Manufacturing (from November 1, 2025)

Joao Laranjo as CFO

Xavier Chéreau as Head of Human Resources

Clara Ingen-Housz as Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications

Ralph Gilles as Head of Design.

In fact, many multinational carmakers, including Stellantis, are undergoing transformations due to the rise of domestic brands and the rapid development of electric vehicles. Stellantis is no exception. According to its financial report, Stellantis reported a net revenue of €74.3 billion for the first half of 2025, a 13% year-on-year decline, and a net loss of €2.3 billion, compared to a net profit of €5.6 billion in the same period last year. The Group’s global total sales for the first half of 2025 amounted to 2.69 million vehicles, an 8% decline compared to the previous year. Stellantis expects continued improvement in the second half of 2025.

In this major leadership restructuring, Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa stated, “With these new appointments, we are promoting outstanding talent from both inside and outside the Group to leadership positions to prepare for the success of our future business. We are also enhancing the Group’s regional focus by assigning dedicated leaders for China and the Asia-Pacific region, as well as for the Middle East and Africa.”

According to plans, Stellantis will launch ten new models this year, including the Jeep Commander and Citroën C5 Aircross, and expects to return to profitable growth and positive cash flow by the end of the year. Additionally, insiders revealed that Stellantis plans to invest about $10 billion in the U.S. to refocus on its crucial markets, and another $5 billion may be invested in the coming weeks. This investment could go towards factory restart, recruitment, and new model development, involving states such as Illinois and Michigan. However, as of the time of reporting, the company had not yet officially commented on this news.
