On April 7, the iCAR V23 was officially premiered and unveiled. This vehicle is positioned as a pure electric small SUV, and the driving range can reach 500km. According to the plan, the iCAR V23 will be publicly displayed at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show and is planned to open pre-sales, go on the market, and be delivered in the second half of the year. It is understood that the new car is expected to be priced at around 100,000 yuan.
Like the first model of iCAR – iCAR 03, the iCAR V23 overall adopts a square box shape, but many classic designs have been modernized, including the bumper, headlights, front engine compartment, and wheel arch shape, etc., and the overall vision is both retro and fashionable.
On the side of the body, the new car adopts the layout of four wheels and four corners and the square body shape, which not only has an outstanding visual effect, but also can help to improve the space performance in the car. At the same time, the roof is also equipped with a luggage rack, and the overall look is more tough. In terms of size, the length, width, and height of the new car are 4220/1915/1845mm, the wheelbase is 2730mm, the approach angle is 42/43°, the departure angle is 40/41°, and the minimum ground clearance is 206/212mm (front two-wheel drive version, rear four-wheel drive version).
At the rear of the vehicle, the iCAR V23 has an external “small schoolbag”, but in fact, it is connected to the inside and cannot be opened from the outside. It can be regarded as an additional storage space, and the main role is to serve as decoration. The tailgate adopts a side-opening method, and two anchor point interfaces are reserved on the left side to enrich the feasibility of subsequent personalized modifications. The left side is marked as “iCAR”, and the right side is “Chery Automobile”.
Entering the interior, the new car continues to use a large number of design elements of rounded rectangles, and at the same time, it enhances the visual effect through the two-tone design with yellow embellishments. A large-sized screen is mounted in the center, and physical buttons are provided below, and the knob is also printed with embossed decorations. It is worth mentioning that the actual shooting model is still in the trial assembly state, so the specific functions cannot be experienced.
In terms of power, the new car will be built on a new platform architecture, providing single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive models. The official has not disclosed specific parameters, but it is stated that the rear-wheel drive version has a driving range of more than 400km, and the four-wheel drive version has a driving range of more than 500km. It is expected that there will also be a relatively large difference in battery capacity.
Today, Su Jun, CEO of Zhimi Technology and chief product officer of Chery iCAR Automobile, officially announced the iCAR V23 on Weibo, mentioning that it is “Chery & Zhimi”, intended to emphasize the joint car-making between Chery and Zhimi Technology.
