Wuling Launches Another New Model! Official Interior Images of the Xingguang 730 Released

On September 17, SAIC-GM-Wuling unveiled the official interior images of its all-new MPV—the Wuling Starlight 730. As a completely new model, the Starlight 730 is built on Wuling’s latest new energy architecture and fully incorporates the brand’s “Sky·Spirit·God” series technologies. Powertrain options will include gasoline, plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and pure electric (BEV) versions. The vehicle is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of this year.

Interior
The cabin adopts a dual-tone walnut brown and warm sand brown color scheme with a wraparound cockpit layout. Premium soft-touch materials are used extensively throughout. At the center, a 12.8-inch infotainment screen supports in-car connectivity and multiple smart functions. Practicality is also highlighted with 25 clever storage spaces and the retention of physical buttons for easier driver operation.

The seating layout follows a 2+2+3 seven-seat configuration. The front seats can recline up to 180°, allowing a “flat-bed” experience. The second-row captain’s chairs feature large-angle backrest adjustment and dual armrests, while the third row supports 40/60 split-folding with recline up to 127°.

Exterior
The Starlight 730 debuts Wuling’s new design language, with two distinct front fascia styles depending on the powertrain. The gasoline and PHEV variants share a large intake grille with a black mesh insert for a sporty look, while the BEV variant adopts a closed-off front end for a sleeker, more youthful appeal.

The LED headlights are uniquely shaped in a parallelogram layout, incorporating dual DRL strips connected by black trim for a strong, integrated visual identity. Aerodynamic features such as side air ducts and a central ventilation opening further enhance sportiness.

From the side, the MPV has a square, upright profile with straight character lines. A through-type window design creates a floating roof effect, with the D-pillar hidden for a more upscale look. Four body colors will be available: Misty Gray, Frost White, Obsidian Black, and Twilight Purple. Dimensions stand at 4910 mm in length, 1850 mm in width, 1770 mm in height, and a 2910 mm wheelbase.

At the rear, the parallelogram-shaped LED taillights echo the front design, offering strong recognition when illuminated at night. A sculpted tailgate and spoiler add depth, while the rear bumper features a large black plastic diffuser-style cladding for a rugged finish.

Powertrain
Gasoline version: 1.5T LC4 engine, max output 130 kW.

PHEV version: 1.5L engine with 78 kW max output, paired with hybrid components.

BEV version: electric motor rated at 100 kW, with battery packs of 54.5 kWh and 60 kWh, offering CLTC ranges of 450 km and 500 km respectively.

Market Position
Currently, Wuling’s MPV lineup includes the Jiachen, Hongguang PLUS, Victory (Kia Jie), and Zhengcheng (including EV versions). With the introduction of the Starlight 730, Wuling aims to take on rivals such as the BYD Song MAX and GAC Trumpchi M6 in the competitive family MPV market. Whether it can carve out a share in the higher-end MPV segment amid fierce 2025 competition remains to be seen.
