On March 22, ZEEKR Automobile announced on its official Weibo that the fifth model under its banner was officially named ZEEKR MIX, and released new car official pictures.
Based on the previous application diagrams and this official diagram, the new car’s appearance continues the design style of the current ZEEKR model. The overall shape resembles an MPV, but the official positioning is a crossover SUV, with a five-seat layout. It is expected to be officially released at the Beijing Auto Show next month. Specifically, the new car adopts a Hidden Energy minimalist luxury exterior design language similar to that of ZEEKR 007, but the front face lines are more rounded and full, and the common closed grille design on pure electric vehicles is adopted. It is matched with the slender through-type design of the headlight group. It is understood that the headlights are equipped with a 90-inch STARGATE integrated smart lamp screen, which is independently controlled by 75 car-grade high-power chips, and the sense of technology is full. In addition, the new car uses a large-size black air intake below, combined with the black trim between the lamp groups, to further enrich the visual layering.
On the side of the body, the new car adopts a new door opening structure, but the official has not disclosed the details, and it is expected that the driver’s side will adopt a traditional front door and sliding rear door, and the co-pilot’s side will use a side-sliding door with opposite opening. In addition, from the official picture, the new car has cancelled the design of the door handle, making the side of the car more integral than the hidden door handle. Combined with the previous application information, it is expected that the new car will provide 19-inch multi-spoke wheels, and the high-equipped models will be upgraded to 20-inch. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4688/1995/1755mm, and the wheelbase is 3008mm. At the rear of the car, the new car has a relatively simple shape, but it looks very coordinated. The rear adopts a through-type light belt design similar to the front face, and is equipped with the “MIX” logo. The small-size spoiler at the top of the rear and the large area of blackening treatment of the rear包围 further enhance the refinement of the whole vehicle.
For the interior, it is expected that the new car will be equipped with the same steering wheel as ZEEKR 007, and the center console and armrest box are designed with a disconnected style, and the seats are in a 5-seat layout. In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a motor of model TZ235XYC01, with a maximum power of 310kW. At present, the new car has been declared in two versions, with a curb weight of 2739kg and 2639kg respectively, and both are equipped with CATL ternary lithium batteries.
ZEEKR was established on April 15, 2021. It is a new smart pure electric vehicle brand under Geely. It is jointly invested and established by Geely Automobile and Geely Holding. The shareholding ratios of the two parties are 51% and 49% respectively. Li Shufu serves as the chairman of the company and An Conghui is the CEO. The first model, ZEEKR 001, was released at the same time as the establishment of the company. It is based on the Lynk & Co. ZERO Concept and has a price range of 299,000-386,000 yuan.
As an important brand for Geely’s transformation to new energy, as of now, the models under ZEEKR Motors that are on sale include ZEEKR 001, ZEEKR 009, ZEEKR X, and ZEEKR 007. Among them, ZEEKR X is the third mass-produced car under ZEEKR Motors. It was launched in April 2023, with a total of three models, and the price range is 189,800-229,800 yuan. In January this year, the 2024 ZEEKR X was officially launched. The new car has cancelled the five-seat rear-wheel drive and offers the five-seat four-wheel drive version and the four-seat rear-wheel drive version. The price has also been increased from 189,800 yuan to 200,000 yuan. As a result, all the models on sale of ZEEKR are above 200,000 yuan.
It is understood that in addition to the ZEEKR MIX model, ZEEKR Motors will also launch a medium and large luxury pure electric SUV and a top luxury pure electric SUV within the year. It is worth mentioning that An Conghui, President of Geely Holding Group and CEO of ZEEKR, once publicly stated that models smaller than ZEEKR X or with lower prices will not be launched in the future, which also means that the price of the models to be launched by ZEEKR within the year will be above 200,000 yuan.
Retail data shows that in 2023, the cumulative sales of ZEEKR Motors were 118,685 vehicles, although it increased by 65% year-on-year, it is still some distance from the sales target of 140,000 vehicles, and the target completion rate is 79.12%. Among the subdivided models, the sales of ZEEKR 001 were 76,246 vehicles, accounting for 64.24% of the total sales; ZEEKR X and ZEEKR 009 followed, with 22,372 vehicles and 19,210 vehicles respectively.
According to the plan, in the future, ZEEKR Motors will launch no less than two new models every year. With the layout of multiple models, the sales target of ZEEKR Motors will achieve exponential growth every year, and the annual delivery target will reach 650,000 vehicles in 2025, becoming the top three in the global luxury electric vehicle market. The annual sales target of ZEEKR Motors in 2024 is 200,000 vehicles, which means that ZEEKR needs to deliver 16,000 new cars on average per month. Among them, ZEEKR 001, as the brand’s sales leader, can provide a certain market incremental effect after its price reduction and launch. In addition to ZEEKR 007, it should not be difficult for ZEEKR to achieve a monthly sales of 16,000. It should be noted that now the competition in the auto market is becoming more and more fierce. In the future, in addition to competing with its old rival Tesla, ZEEKR Motors will also face the pressure from BYD and Xiaomi Motors.
