Recently, Subaru (China) Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the “Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products” and the “Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products.” According to the announcement, starting from September 20, 2025, Subaru (China) Co., Ltd. will recall 48 imported SOLTERRA (Lan Kun) series vehicles produced between October 25, 2022, and April 26, 2023.

The announcement states that the recalled vehicles, due to a software issue in the air conditioning control unit, will enter a fail-safe mode when a specific fault code is detected, disabling the water heater, which results in a decline in defogging and defrosting performance, affecting the driver’s visibility and posing a safety risk. To address the product defect, Subaru (China) Co., Ltd. will offer a free upgrade to the internal software of the air conditioning control unit for the affected vehicles to eliminate the safety risk.
This marks Subaru’s second recall of the SOLTERRA (Lan Kun). In June 2024, Subaru (China) Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation. As of now, one imported SOLTERRA (Lan Kun) vehicle manufactured on April 26, 2023, will be recalled. According to the announcement, the panoramic monitoring system’s front camera housing was poorly welded, resulting in insufficient waterproofing. This allows rainwater to enter the camera, potentially causing circuit corrosion and poor connection, leading to the failure of the camera’s image display. This increases the risk of a collision and poses a safety hazard. To address the defect, Subaru (China) Co., Ltd. will replace the front camera of the panoramic monitoring system free of charge and perform optical axis calibration to eliminate the safety risk.
