March 20, JETOUR X90 PRO under Chery JETOUR was officially launched. The new car offers a total of 5 models, with a price range of 127,900-169,900 yuan. The new car can be regarded as the fuel version of Shanhai L9. It is positioned as a mid-sized SUV, and both the interior and exterior designs adopt the latest family-style design. It is powered by a 1.6T and 2.0T engine, and the whole series of models is equipped with a wet dual-clutch transmission.
In terms of appearance, the new car adopts the latest family design language, and the overall design style is similar to that of Shanhai L9. The front face adopts a straight waterfall large-size grille design, with split headlights on both sides, and a through-type LED light belt above the grille, which effectively stretches the visual width. The lower air intake is designed in a trapezoidal shape, adding a sharp feeling to the vehicle. In addition, the new car is also equipped with a forward millimeter-wave radar, which gives a more refined and atmospheric overall visual effect.
In terms of the side and rear of the body, the design style of the new car is basically consistent with that of Shanhai L9. The difference is that the new car adds “390TGDI” on the fender to indicate the identity of the fuel vehicle. The new car adopts a segmented waistline design, providing a traditional styled door handle and 20-inch wheel rim design. In terms of dimensions, the length, width and height of the new car are 4858/1925/1780mm, and the wheelbase is 2850mm. At the rear of the car, the new car continues to retain the through-type taillights and chrome trim, and uses straight trim for decoration. The lower part is a two-side double-outlet exhaust layout, further providing a sporty atmosphere for the vehicle.
In terms of the interior, the new car is equipped with a 15.6-inch 1080P floating central control screen and a 10.25-inch liquid crystal instrument, with a built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, supporting functions such as a 540° panoramic parking system. The new car also uses a flat-bottomed styled steering wheel, a through-type air outlet, an electronic gearshift, and 50-watt wireless fast charging, which gives a good overall technological sense. In terms of seat layout, the new car adopts a 5-seat/7-seat two-layout, and the trunk storage volume under the 5-seat state is 1634L.
In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 1.6T and 2.0T engine. Among them, the maximum power of the 1.6T engine is 197 horsepower, and the peak torque is 290 N·m; the maximum power of the 2.0TGDI engine is 254 horsepower, and the peak torque is 390 N·m; the transmission systems of the two engines are all matched with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
In addition to the JETOUR X90 PRO model, JETOUR Automobile also announced the latest product planning for the next two years, including many new cars such as JETOUR Shanhai L6, Shanhai L7, Shanhai T-L, Shanhai T1, and Shanhai T2. Among them, Shanhai L7 will be listed in Q3, and Shanhai T1 will be listed in Q4.
JETOUR is an automotive product sequence launched by Chery Holding Group on January 22, 2018. It used to belong to Karry Automobile. From the beginning of its launch, it adopts a high-config and low-price model strategy, and quickly relies on Chery’s channel end for layout. According to the official website, the currently sold models under JETOUR Automobile include JETOUR Dasheng, X90 Zilong, X90 PLUS, X90, New X70S, X70 Zhuge, X70 PLUS, X70, X70M, X70 Coupe, X70S, X95 Chief Edition, X95 Supreme Edition, X70S-EV, and JETOUR Traveler.
Retail data shows that in February, the sales of JETOUR X70, JETOUR Traveler, and JETOUR X90 were 7,828 vehicles, 4,974 vehicles, and 2,889 vehicles respectively.
As early as 2021, JETOUR Automobile proposed the goal of achieving one million vehicle sales in 2026, and this year it will achieve a sales target of 500,000 vehicles and enter the first echelon of Chinese brands. From the current sales analysis, this sales target is quite difficult for JETOUR Automobile.
At present, JETOUR Automobile has basically completed the two-way layout in the field of fuel and new energy, but the layout in the field of new energy is still relatively slow. According to the plan, the JETOUR brand will launch 8 new hybrid products within 2-3 years and no less than 6 new fuel vehicle products. In the next 5 years, it will invest 100 billion yuan in new energy research and development. Whether JETOUR Automobile can achieve better results in the future deserves attention.
The latest data shows that in February 2024, Chery Group’s sales were 143,155 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 37.8%; the cumulative sales in January-February were 348,019 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 69.5%. Among them, JETOUR’s brand sales in February were 29,017 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 76.6%; the cumulative sales in January-February were 71,973 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 121.9%.
