On September 28, Chery Automobile officially released the official images of the all-new Tiggo 8. The new Tiggo 8 can be considered a successor model to the previous Tiggo 8. As a new generation model, the vehicle offers a dual front design style, and its body dimensions have been increased. According to plans, the new model will be launched in the fourth quarter of this year. For reference, the current Tiggo 8 is priced between 109,900 and 159,900 RMB.

In terms of exterior design, the new car adopts an entirely new design style with two front-end design options. Both models feature a large grille design, with the central brand logo embedded in the middle, and the raised lines on the hood add to the overall stylish look. The main differences lie in the grille design and headlamp shape. One variant features a smooth grille outline with a honeycomb mesh inside, along with a split headlamp design on both sides, giving it a sportier and more visually striking appearance. The other variant adopts an octagonal grille outline, filled with a dot matrix chrome element, and matrix LED headlights on both sides, presenting a more stable and refined look.
Looking at the side profile, the new car’s overall design exudes a strong sense of power. The roofline slopes downward gradually from the B-pillar, combined with the forward-leaning C-pillar design, creating a dynamic and sporty stance. It also features semi-hidden exterior door handles and 19-inch dual-tone aluminum alloy wheels, giving it a very sporty feel. In terms of size, the new car measures 4749 mm in length, 1880 mm in width, and 1710 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2825 mm. It is positioned as a medium-sized SUV with a 5-seat layout. For comparison, the current 2025 Tiggo 8 measures 4722 (4720) mm in length, 1860 mm in width, and 1745 (1746) mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2710 mm. At the rear, the new car features a new style of full-width light strip design for the taillights, with the “CHERY” logo above, making it highly recognizable when lit. The license plate frame is cleverly integrated into the rear bumper area, further enhancing the vehicle’s visual richness. In terms of exhaust, the new car offers two layouts: hidden exhaust and dual rear exhaust, depending on the front design.
As for the interior and powertrain, the official details have not been released yet. However, for reference, the current Tiggo 8 PLUS is equipped with two engine options: a 1.6T and a 2.0T engine. The former has a maximum power of 145 kW, paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission; the latter has a maximum power of 187 kW, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Based on the new Tiggo 8’s positioning and the pricing of the current models, the new car will continue to compete with models like the Jetour X70L, Geely Haoyue L, and Haval Big Dog PLUS after its launch.
