On September 7, the 4th-generation Changan Eado was officially launched. The new model offers three trims, priced between 12,323.26 USD and 13,986.78 USD. With official purchase incentives, the limited-time launch price ranges from 10,220.58 USD to 11,902.98 USD. The latest Eado mainly brings updates to the interior and equipment, introduces a new exterior color option “E-Blue,” and continues to use the 1.5T engine.

Exterior Design
The new Eado sees several noticeable changes to its exterior. The badge has been moved upward and embedded into a new through-type light strip that can be illuminated, while the headlamp internals have been redesigned. The front bumper features new imitation air ducts with “blade-like” styling. Available paint options include Andes Grey, Sparkling Ice White, and the new E-Blue, while former colors (Obsidian Black, Dynamic Red, Titanium Silver Grey, and Cloud Green) have been discontinued.
From the side, the Eado retains its coupe-inspired fastback silhouette, with blacked-out B-pillars, standard door handles, newly designed 18-inch multi-spoke wheels with Chaoyang tires (225/45 R18), and side-view cameras under the mirrors. Measuring 4,785 × 1,840 × 1,440 (or 1,450) mm with a 2,765 mm wheelbase, its dimensions remain largely unchanged. At the rear, a powered spoiler has been added, with tweaks to the through-type taillights and bumper design. The badge is now illuminated, and the dual exhaust outlets are retained.
Interior and Tech
The interior changes are more pronounced, with three new dual-tone color schemes: Golden Black, Mystic Red, and Violet White. The large vertical screen has been replaced with the Tianshu Smart Dual Screen setup, combining a 14.6-inch central touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, supporting three-finger swipe functions. The system runs the Tianshu OS and reintroduces some physical buttons for practicality. The steering wheel and gear selector have also been redesigned, while door panel layouts were adjusted for better ergonomics. Additional features include a wireless charging pad and ambient lighting.
Powertrain
The 4th-generation Eado is powered by the JL473ZQD 1.5T engine, producing 141 kW and 310 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission—the same setup as the 2025 Eado 1.5T DCT 500Bar.
In addition to the gasoline version, a PHEV variant has been filed with regulators. It combines a 1.5L engine (72 kW) with an electric motor available in 140 kW and 158 kW outputs. The 140 kW model is paired with a 9.07 kWh ternary lithium battery, while the 158 kW model uses an 18.4 kWh LFP battery, offering 55 km and 118 km of pure EV range, respectively (test cycle unspecified). Both ranges slightly exceed those of the current model (53/115 km CLTC).
Market Positioning
The Eado remains a compact sedan, competing against domestic rivals like the Geely Emgrand, Roewe i5, and MG5, as well as joint-venture models such as the Nissan Sylphy, VW Lavida, and Toyota Corolla. From January to July 2025, Changan Eado sold 93,073 units, ranking 7th among compact sedans, though still far behind joint-venture leaders like the Sylphy and Lavida.
