On July 26, FAW-Audi officially opened pre-sales for the Audi Q6L e-tron family, which includes two models: the Q6L e-tron and the Q6L Sportback e-tron. The pre-sale “privilege prices” are set at RMB 353,000–383,000 for the standard SUV, and RMB 373,000–403,000 for the Sportback coupe variant.

The Audi Q6L e-tron is built on the all-new PPE platform and positioned as a pure electric mid-size SUV, available in both a traditional SUV body style and a Sportback coupe SUV. It comes equipped with Huawei’s Qiankun advanced driver-assistance system and delivers a maximum CLTC range of up to 765 km.
Exterior
The Q6L e-tron carries forward Audi’s classic SUV design language, retaining a grille that mimics the polygonal intake of combustion models, now body-colored. The split headlights are integrated with the intake structure, while the lower diffuser and intake sections add a sporty, aggressive look. Unique daytime running lights can display varying patterns when illuminated. On the Sportback model, the grille features a fully blacked-out design compared with the chrome accents on the Q6L e-tron, giving it a sportier character.
From the side, dual waistlines emphasize strength and presence. The upper waistline adopts a two-part design, while the lower one discreetly incorporates the e-tron logo. Dimensions for the Q6L e-tron are 4,884 × 1,965 × 1,694 mm with a 2,995 mm wheelbase; the Sportback is slightly lower at 1,656 mm in height. At the rear, the Q6L e-tron has a forward-leaning D-pillar and slightly sloping roof for a sleek silhouette, while the Sportback adds a coupe-like roofline with an integrated spoiler for added sportiness.
Interior
Inside, both models adopt Audi’s latest EV interior design, distinct from existing e-tron models. Features include an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch MMI central touchscreen, an embedded 10.9-inch passenger display, and an AR-HUD projecting speed, traffic signs, and navigation info.
The steering wheel features touch-sensitive controls, and the driver’s door panel integrates functions like lighting, seat memory, locks, and mirrors. Physical buttons are significantly reduced, following EV design trends. The center console includes two cupholders, a wireless phone charging slot, and two USB-C ports. A lever-style shifter is used, alongside a few essential shortcut buttons for drive mode selection, ESP, audio volume, and parking assistance. Seating layout is 2+3 five-seat configuration, with the second row supporting 40:20:40 split folding.
Powertrain and Range
The Q6L e-tron will be offered in RWD and AWD versions, with outputs of 255 kW and 345 kW, respectively. Powered by a 107 kWh battery, depending on configuration it offers four CLTC range options: 709 km, 715 km, 752 km, and 765 km. Thanks to 800V charging technology, the vehicle supports a maximum 270 kW fast charge, adding nearly 260 km of range in just 10 minutes under ideal conditions. When using 400V charging stations, the battery automatically splits into two parallel modules, supporting up to 135 kW charging power.
Market Position
As a luxury-brand mid-size EV SUV, the Audi Q6L e-tron family starts at RMB 353,000. Its main competitors in China include the BMW iX3, Tesla Model Y, and Xiaomi YU7. The Xiaomi YU7, though larger, is priced nearly RMB 100,000 lower, and has already achieved strong market traction. Meanwhile, the Tesla Model Y remains the best-selling SUV, with 171,500 units sold in the first half of the year. Given Audi’s current EV sales performance, the Q6L e-tron will need a compelling price strategy to gain a foothold in this highly competitive segment.
