Jiang Hairong Officially Takes Office as President of Deepal (Shenlan) Auto

Today, former Honor China CMO Jiang Hairong posted an image of his new Deepal Auto employee badge on Weibo, tagging the “Deepal Auto Global Product Launch” hashtag.

Deepal Auto Chairman Deng Chenghao reposted Jiang’s message, welcoming him to the company. This interaction served as official confirmation of recent media reports that Jiang has been appointed President (CEO) of Deepal Auto. On September 5, media outlets reported that Deepal Auto had undergone leadership restructuring: Jiang Hairong would become CEO, while former CEO Deng Chenghao was promoted to Chairman. Around the same time, Deng also updated his Weibo profile name and certification to “Chairman of Deepal Auto.”

Notably, on his first day in office, Jiang Hairong joined Deng Chenghao at a media briefing ahead of the 2025 Deepal Auto Autumn Global Launch Event. At the event, Deng emphasized that he and Jiang would work in close alignment to achieve the goal of building Deepal into a “world-class EV brand.” Jiang expressed that he was drawn to Deepal’s positive momentum in the new energy sector, as well as its strong technological foundation and robust corporate system. He added that he was confident in leading the company toward rapid, high-quality growth. Deepal stated that Jiang’s appointment marks the beginning of a new stage of “deep integration between new energy and technology,” as the brand continues its push in electrification and intelligence.

Background of Jiang Hairong
Jiang Hairong has extensive experience in the electronics industry, having worked for many years at Huawei in R&D and product management, where he served as Chief Engineer of the Terminal Mobile Product Department. After Honor separated from Huawei in 2021, Jiang became Honor’s CMO for China, overseeing brand building and marketing in the Chinese market. In January this year, Honor announced Jiang’s resignation, which he later confirmed. With expertise in brand marketing and ICT product development, Jiang’s experience may prove valuable to Deepal Auto, whose sales are still in a growth phase.

Industry insiders note that Jiang’s extensive background in consumer electronics could help strengthen Deepal’s competitiveness in in-vehicle connectivity, smart cockpits, and digital ecosystems.
