Geely Galaxy Xingyao 6 Filed with MIIT, Prepares for Market Launch
The Geely Galaxy Xingyao 6, an all-new plug-in hybrid sedan under Geely’s Galaxy brand, has appeared in the latest batch of new vehicle filings released by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The filing suggests the model is approaching its official launch.

In terms of design, the Xingyao 6 features a trapezoidal front grille with chrome slats, flanked by slim headlights, and a sporty three-part lower intake. The side profile adopts a sharp shoulder line running across the body, complemented by chrome window trim and traditional door handles instead of hidden ones. The car will be available with 16-inch and 17-inch wheels. Dimensions are 4806/1886/1490 mm, with a 2756 mm wheelbase, placing it in the mid-size sedan segment, slightly below the Galaxy A7. At the rear, the model is equipped with full-width LED taillights and diffuser-style trim for a refined sporty look.
The new sedan is powered by Geely’s latest Thor EM-i hybrid system, paired with a 1.5L 82 kW engine. It is expected to compete with strong-selling rivals such as the BYD Qin L DM-i and Sealion 06 DM-i.
Launched in 2023, Geely’s Galaxy brand has quickly expanded its lineup with models including the E5, E8, L6, L7, and Xingyao 8, targeting multiple NEV market segments. The upcoming Galaxy A7 EM-i, already in pre-sales, and the flagship M9 SUV, unveiled in Milan earlier this year, further highlight the brand’s aggressive product rollout.
In the first half of 2025, Galaxy sold 548,400 vehicles, up 232% year-on-year, achieving over half of its annual 1-million-unit sales target. With the addition of the Xingyao 6, Geely aims to further strengthen its position in China’s fast-growing NEV market.
