On September 29, Zeekr’s flagship large SUV, the Zeekr 9X, was officially launched. The new vehicle is available in four versions: Max, Ultra, Hyper, and Yao Black, with prices set at 465,900 RMB, 475,900 RMB, 549,900 RMB, and 589,900 RMB, respectively, a reduction of 12,000 RMB from the previous pre-sale prices. As the strategic first model of Zeekr’s entry into the high-end luxury SUV segment, the Zeekr 9X is built on the exclusive electric hybrid platform, Hao Han-S (SEA-S), and features a 900-volt high-voltage hybrid architecture. It is positioned as a large plug-in hybrid SUV.

In terms of appearance, the Zeekr 9X adopts the same family design style as the Zeekr 009. The front is equipped with a large, vertical waterfall-style grille, with an active closing air intake grille likely to be installed beneath it. The new car features a nearly flat C-shaped starry matrix headlamp assembly, with the upper part of the “C” shape equipped with a horizontal light strip. Inside the light units, there is a decorative pattern resembling “starry skies,” which adds a touch of sophistication when lit. The vehicle is available in seven exterior colors: Extreme Day White, Extreme Night Black, Glacier Silver, Night Purple, Starry Gray, Black Warrior, and Vast Green. Notably, the Yao Black edition features extensive blacked-out exterior details, including blacked-out wheels and a darkened front grille, appealing to customers who prefer a more aggressive, blacked-out aesthetic.

On the side, the D-pillar of the Zeekr 9X extends along both the upper and lower edges of the windows, creating a “C” shape on the car’s side, with the A, B, and C pillars blacked out. This design is referred to as a “flying bridge yacht-style roof.” The vehicle also adopts traditional door handles, with side-view cameras located below the fenders and outside mirrors, and electric side steps under the doors. The D-pillar also features a ZEEKR brand embossed logo. In terms of size, the Zeekr 9X measures 5239 mm in length, 2029 mm in width, and 1819 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3169 mm, positioning it as a large SUV.

At the rear, the Zeekr 9X features a distinctive design compared to other large SUVs in its class, with rich surfaces and lines, including a full-width tail light and a rear spoiler. The tailgate is also marked with the “Zeekr” and “9X” logos to indicate the vehicle’s identity. Additionally, the Zeekr 9X is equipped with a panoramic sunroof and landscape seats, enhancing the vehicle’s usability and outdoor appeal.

Inside, the Zeekr 9X offers three interior color options: Amber Brown, Polar White, and Moon Shadow Blue. Polar White and Amber Brown adopt a two-tone color scheme with dark upper sections and light lower sections, complemented by chrome details throughout the cabin for added refinement. The center console is designed with a minimalist style, featuring a 47-inch AR-HUD head-up display and a 16-inch dual-screen system with a floating central screen and a co-driver screen, powered by dual Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chips. It runs Zeekr AI OS 7, greatly enhancing the experience for front-seat passengers. The vehicle also features a four-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a shift-by-wire gear selector, and retains a row of mechanical buttons below the central screen. The front of the passenger dashboard includes a storage compartment for two smartphones, integrated with a 50W wireless charging feature.

The Zeekr 9X uses a 2+2+2 six-seat layout, with all models covered in Soft Nappa leather seats. The second row consists of two independent seats with leg rests, built-in speakers in the headrests, and functions for ventilation, heating, and massage. The third-row seats are equipped with armrests, cup holders, and electric adjustment controls. Additionally, a 17-inch 3K OLED wing-style sliding screen is located in front of the second-row seats, which can move back and forth, providing an entertainment experience for both second and third-row passengers or just the third row.

When the third-row seatbacks are folded down, the cargo area forms an almost completely flat surface, expanding the car’s loading capacity and practicality. Beneath the cargo floor, there is a shallow storage compartment for small items, and on the left side of the cargo area, there is a control panel related to the third-row seats and air suspension, as well as a 2.2 kW 220V power outlet.

In addition, Zeekr has officially partnered with British audio brand Naim to equip the Zeekr 9X with the Naim Signature Sound System, featuring 32 speakers, 8 seat transducers, and 40 independent channels, delivering a peak power of 3868 kW in a 9.2.4.8 configuration. Naim Audio, a high-end audio manufacturer, has collaborated with Bentley since 2008, and Zeekr is their second automotive partner globally, adding significant emotional value to the vehicle.

For intelligent driver assistance, the Zeekr 9X offers two options: the H7 Intelligent Driving Assistance plan with the NVIDIA Thor-U chip providing 700 TOPS of computing power, and the H9 Intelligent Driving Assistance plan featuring dual Thor-U chips with a computing power of 1400 TOPS. The car is equipped with 43 pieces of perception hardware, including 1 long-range lidar with 520 lines and 4 high-precision solid-state lidar units. The upgraded H7 plan promises smoother and more human-like driving assistance, while the H9 plan supports L3-level intelligent driving assistance with production capability.

In terms of power, the Zeekr 9X, as the first model based on the Hao Han-S platform, supports a 900V hybrid high-voltage architecture. It is equipped with a 2.0T hybrid-specific engine with a maximum power of 205 kW, and front and rear dual motors with maximum power of 290 kW (front) and 370 kW (rear). The system’s total maximum power is 1030 kW. The car is equipped with a 55 kWh and 70 kWh hybrid-specific battery, with a CLTC pure electric range of 288 km and 380 km, and a 6C charging rate that allows the battery to be charged from 20% to 80% in approximately 9 minutes.

Currently, there are not many large SUVs available in the domestic market, with main competitors including the AITO M9, Li Auto L9, Tengshi N9, and NIO ES8. Compared to these models, the Zeekr 9X stands out with its unique design and richer features. While the M9, L9, N9, and ES8 are more family-oriented, the Zeekr 9X balances both family and business attributes, making it a more versatile option with a bold, aggressive exterior.

According to recent sales data, the AITO M9 sold 10,067 units in August 2025, the Li Auto L9 sold 3,959 units, and the Tengshi N9 sold 2,021 units. The Zeekr 9X garnered 42,667 pre-sale orders within one hour, and with its competitive pricing, it is expected to become a new blockbuster for Zeekr. In August of this year, the Zeekr 7X led the sales with 5,606 units, followed by the Zeekr 007 at 4,262 units, and the Zeekr 001 at 3,474 units.
