IM Motors Official Announcement! LS9 to Begin Presales on November 4

On October 27, IM Motors officially announced that the IM LS9 will begin presales on November 4. According to available information, the IM LS9 is positioned as a six-seat large SUV, featuring the “Stellar” super range-extending technology and the Lingxi Digital Chassis 3.0. It offers a CLTC pure electric range of 402 km and is scheduled to be officially launched in the fourth quarter of the year.

Exterior Design
The IM LS9 features a boxy and upright body shape. Its headlight design differs entirely from other IM models, adopting an L-shaped layout combined with a full-width light strip. The front adopts a closed grille design with an air intake added to the center of the lower bumper. On the side, the vehicle uses flush door handles, and its dimensions are 5279 mm (length) × 2000 mm (width) × 1806 mm (height), with a wheelbase of 3160 mm, positioning it firmly as a large SUV. The overall appearance emphasizes presence and practicality, with strong proportions and a robust stance. At the rear, the LS9 continues IM Motors’ family-style design, with a full-width taillight strip and dot-matrix lighting elements on both sides.

Interior Design
Based on previous spy shots, the IM LS9’s cabin will adopt the same new interior design as the IM LS6. It features three displays — a 5K dual central screen and a 3K co-pilot entertainment screen, giving the dashboard a layered and futuristic look. The air vents run across the entire dashboard with a metallic finish, while several physical buttons remain below the main screens for convenient control. Beneath the screens is a wireless charging pad and storage compartment. The steering wheel is a three-spoke circular design, though a half-spoke variant may also be available.

Powertrain and Performance
The IM LS9 will utilize the “Stellar” super range-extending system, equipped with a 1.5T range extender (model 15FNE) delivering a maximum power output of 114 kW. It also features dual electric motors, producing 160 kW (front) and 230 kW (rear), respectively.
For range, the LS9 will use a ternary lithium-ion battery pack supplied by SAIC Times, with an officially rated CLTC pure electric range of 402 km. The SUV will also come with a 150 mm travel dual-chamber closed air suspension system and Lingxi Digital Chassis 3.0, supporting four-wheel steering with up to 24 degrees of two-way rotation.

Market Positioning and Competition
With the upcoming launch of the large SUV LS9, IM Motors’ product lineup will become more comprehensive. The brand currently offers four models — L7, L6, LS7, and LS6 — with the LS6 being the main sales contributor, recording 6,429 units sold in September. However, the company still lacks a breakout best-selling model. The LS9, as IM’s largest and most premium SUV to date, is expected to strengthen the brand’s market presence, though its final price has not yet been announced. It is expected to compete aggressively through pricing within its segment.

As a flagship 9-series SUV, the IM LS9 will directly compete with models such as the Li Auto L9, AITO M9, Geely Galaxy M9, Lynk & Co 900, DENZA N9, and NIO ES8.
Industry data shows that in September 2025, three large SUVs surpassed 10,000 units in sales — the AITO M8 (21,244 units), AITO M9 (10,997 units), and LeDao L90 (10,503 units) — highlighting the segment’s competitiveness and strong consumer demand.
