Another New Brand Is Born: Aishang Auto Arrives

Recently, Liuzhou Wuling New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. announced its entry into the passenger vehicle market with the launch of a new new-energy vehicle (NEV) brand — Aishang Auto. The brand has already opened its official accounts, with its logo derived from Wuling’s signature “W” combined with a diamond-shaped motif. Positioned as a youthful, stylish NEV brand, Aishang plans to roll out sedans, SUVs, and MPVs within the next three years, built on three proprietary platforms for micro, small, and compact cars. The first model, the Aishang A100C, a pure-electric microcar, will debut at the brand’s launch event on September 26.

Corporate Background
Liuzhou Wuling New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. was established in June 2021 in Liuzhou, Guangxi, with a registered capital of RMB 1.1092 billion. Guangxi Automobile Group holds a 63.1% stake, Wuling Motors Holdings holds 12.8%, and Liuzhou Wuling Automobile Industry holds 11.8%, totaling 87.7%. The remaining 12.3% is owned by Xuchang Jintou Holdings and others.

Although the company name includes “Wuling,” it is not directly related to the well-known Wuling brand under SAIC-GM-Wuling (jointly owned by SAIC Group 50.1%, GM 44.0%, and Guangxi Automobile Group 5.9%). Instead, Liuzhou Wuling NEV is a subsidiary of Guangxi Automobile Group, primarily producing light commercial vehicles under the “Lingshi Auto” brand. To expand into the passenger car segment, Guangxi Automobile Group partnered with Henan Senyuan Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd., which holds the required production qualifications, to establish the Aishang brand.

First Model: Aishang A100C
The A100C has already been listed in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) filings. It is a 3-door, 4-seat pure-electric microcar.

Design: The styling is strikingly similar to Changan’s Lumin EV, featuring round dual headlamps, a charging port on the right front fender, and traditional pull-type door handles.

Dimensions: 3,285 mm (L) × 1,708 mm (W) × 1,550 mm (H), with a 1,980 mm wheelbase — slightly larger than the Changan Lumin in length, width, and height, but with the same wheelbase. At the rear, the round taillights echo the front design, with “Aishang A100C” badging on the left and “Senyuan” on the right, indicating the manufacturing partner.

Powertrain: Single electric motor rated at 35 kW (83 Nm peak torque), with a top speed of 101 km/h. It is paired with a 17.65 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery supplied by Gotion High-Tech, providing a CLTC range of 220 km.

Market Outlook
In China’s NEV market, micro EVs remain a hot segment but show sharp polarization in sales. The A100C will compete with models such as the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV, Geely Panda, Chery QQ Ice Cream, Changan Lumin, and Lingbao Uni.

Sales Data (Jan–Aug 2025):Wuling Hongguang MINIEV: 236,200 unitsGeely Panda: 111,800 unitsChangan Lumin: 101,100 unitsChery QQ Ice Cream: 20,300 units

Given Aishang’s lack of brand recognition compared with established micro-EV players like Wuling and Geely, the A100C faces an uphill battle in carving out significant market share.
