A few days ago, Audi officially released the official pictures of the basic version of the new A5 model. Compared with the previous high-end version, the entry-level version is more “bony”. The configurations or designs of the front headlight group, the center console’s passenger-side screen, wheel rims and seats are all more plain. Perhaps this configuration model is the version that will be most contacted in the future in domestic production. Combined with previous reports, the latest A5 released by Audi is not the previous A5, but is renamed from the A4 and launched to the market as a new generation of the A4. It is understood that the models launched by Audi in the future will all be renamed. The odd-numbered product series of Audi is the model equipped with an internal combustion engine, and the even-numbered series will turn to electrification. In the future, the A6 will be renamed to the A7 and the A8 will be renamed to the A9. The latest released A5 basic version model of Audi is the station wagon version. The front face design remains basically unchanged, and the hexagonal black grille is still adopted, but many changes can also be seen from it. For example, the internal structure of the headlight has been redesigned, the matrix LED headlight is cancelled, and the programming light language function is also missing. The new car still adopts the hexagonal black grille shape, and the size of the black vents on both sides of the basic version model is reduced, looking more plastic. On the side of the body, it is basically the same as the high-end model, but only 17-inch wheel rims are provided, and the momentum is a little worse than that of the S LINE version. At the same time, the window line lamp adopts a silver decoration, which blends well with the white body. At the rear part of the car, the A5 basic version also adopts the brand-new through-type taillight group of the same style, but does not have the missing programming light language function. The bottom bumper area of the rear bumper is removed from some decorations compared with the S LINE version, and the overall sporty effect is slightly inferior. In terms of the interior, the A5 basic version also has quite a lot of adjustments. Its instrument and center console adopt the双联 screen style, with sizes of 11.9 inches and 14.9 inches respectively. The 10.9-inch passenger-side screen provided by the S LINE version is cancelled, but the overall appearance is not obtrusive either. In addition, the new car adopts a brand-new steering wheel shape, and the shift mechanism is also changed from an electronic shift lever to a more compact electronic slider style, making the auxiliary instrument panel look more concise and consistent with the S LINE version. In terms of power, the new A5 fuel version is equipped with a 2.0T engine. The low-power version has a maximum power of 110 kW (150 horsepower), and the high-power version has a maximum power of 150 kW (204 horsepower). In terms of the transmission system, the new Audi A5 will be equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and provide two power layouts of front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. It is understood that FAW-Audi first introduced the A4L on January 5, 2009. The A4L is a new car that Audi only launched in the Chinese mainland, which is similar to the relationship between the A6 and the A6L. It is also a model derived from the changes in configuration and market demand after the domestic production of overseas models. In April 2020, FAW-Audi launched the new A4L, which is the mid-term facelift of the fifth-generation model with the code name B9. It has been four years since then, and with the release of the new Audi A5 family, the naming of the FAW-Audi A4L will also change, and it may be renamed to the A5L. It is worth mentioning that the Audi A4L will no longer be the exclusive of FAW-Audi. According to media reports, Audi will produce the new Audi A5 simultaneously in both North and South Audi, and not only the Audi A5, but also Audi will produce the same model in both North and South Audi in the future, but the two companies are encouraged to carry out local transformation of the product and freely obtain the sales volume of the new car through an internal competition. Industry insiders said that the reason why Audi makes changes is mainly due to profits. Audi holds 10% of the shares in FAW-Audi, while holding 50% of the shares in SAIC Audi, and this profit sharing is also the driving force that prompts Audi to continuously transfer products. The market speculates that the domestic-produced Audi A5 will cancel the 2.0T low-power version and directly replace it with the latest 1.5T engine. In the future, the domestic version of the Audi A5 will be divided into two versions of FAW-Audi and SAIC-Audi. Among them, the one produced by FAW-Audi will be the coupe version, while the one produced by SAIC-Audi will be the lengthened three-box version. According to the spy photos flowing out in the market, the exterior design style of the SAIC Audi A5L basically continues the design style of the overseas A5 Sedan, adopts a three-box body, and the car length and wheelbase have visible lengthening, quite a bit like the A7L, showing a strong business style. As for the FAW-Audi A5L, it adopts a different design style, with a large slip-back + hatchback tailgate design being extremely sporty.
