From January to September, the company’s total sales reached 923,400 units, a year-on-year increase of 8.15%, with NEV sales reaching 278,500 units.

Breaking down by brand, the highest year-on-year growth in September came from the WEY brand, with sales of 11,000 units, a 63.23% increase, although the growth rate has slowed compared to previous months. For comparison, in May, WEY’s sales grew by 115.27% to 6,161 units, in June by 246.95% to 10,200 units, in July by 263.29% to 10,000 units, and in August by 167.51% to 8,000 units. By the end of September, WEY’s cumulative sales for the year were 63,600 units, an increase of 96.35%.

Currently, WEY’s available models include the Lanshan, Gaoshan, and Mocha, with the Gaoshan being a newly launched model this year. The WEY Gaoshan is the brand’s first MPV, built on the WEY New Energy high-end MPV platform, and was launched in October 2023. In May, the new WEY Gaoshan series was launched, consisting of the Gaoshan 7, Gaoshan 8, and Gaoshan 9, targeting different customer segments such as family users, commercial users, and flagship products. The Gaoshan 8 and Gaoshan 9 are priced at 309,800 RMB and 353,800 RMB, respectively. Due to vehicle configuration adjustments, the price for the Gaoshan 7 was not announced at the time of launch. On September 10, the Gaoshan 7 officially opened for pre-sales, with a pre-sale price of 289,800 RMB and 5,576 orders within 20 hours. Additionally, the Gaoshan Welfare Edition was also launched at a price of 349,800 RMB. As WEY’s first MPV, the Gaoshan has injected new vitality into the brand’s high-end market development, becoming a new sales growth point. Retail data shows that from June to August, Gaoshan sales were 5,949, 6,149, and 5,007 units, respectively.

The Haval brand remains the core of Great Wall Motors’ sales, with 81,900 units sold in September, a 30.24% year-on-year increase, accounting for 61.30% of the total sales. Year-to-date sales for Haval reached 528,500 units, a 12.03% increase, accounting for 57.23% of total sales. Currently, Haval’s lineup includes the Haval H6, Haval Big Dog, Haval H9, Haval H5, Haval 2nd Gen Big Dog PHEV, Haval M6, and Haval Xiaolong MAX, but there is no standout model. In August, the top three best-selling Haval models were the Haval Big Dog, Haval Haval H9 PHEV, and Haval H6, with sales of 14,457, 7,404, and 5,085 units, respectively. Overall, while Haval continues to lead the other Great Wall Motors brands in sales, its market share is facing pressure due to intensifying competition in the automotive market.

In September, the Tank brand achieved sales of 21,400 units, a year-on-year increase of 14.41%. Currently, Tank’s product lineup includes the Tank 300, Tank 400, Tank 500, and Tank 700, with the Tank 300 being the top-selling model. Previously, Tank brand maintained strong market growth, but as the off-road vehicle segment became more competitive, it has also faced sales pressure. By the end of September, Tank’s cumulative sales for the year reached 165,100 units, a year-on-year decrease of 2.75%.

For other brands, the Ora brand saw a 14.02% year-on-year increase in sales, reaching 6,300 units in September, but its cumulative sales for the year fell by 37.06%, totaling 29,700 units. Ora, which is focused on the new energy vehicle market and targets the female market, currently offers the Ora Good Cat, Ballet Cat, and Lightning Cat models, with the Good Cat being the best-seller. On September 25, Ora launched a new SUV, named the Ora 5, which was officially announced on September 22. The new vehicle follows the family design language and features a new interior style, laser radar, and has dimensions of 4471mm in length, 1833mm (1844mm) in width, and 1641mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2720mm, outperforming the Ora Good Cat in several areas. The vehicle is powered by a 150 kW electric motor.

As for Great Wall’s pickup trucks, sales in September reached 12,900 units, a year-on-year decline of 10.76%. Year-to-date sales reached 136,200 units, an increase of 3.11%. In addition to the five core brands, overseas markets have also contributed to Great Wall Motors’ sales, with overseas sales reaching 50,300 units in September, a year-on-year increase of 13.98%. The cumulative sales in overseas markets for the first nine months of the year totaled 334,200 units.

In summary, in September, Great Wall Motors’ brands Haval, WEY, Tank, and Ora all saw positive sales growth. However, as the automotive industry undergoes a transformation toward electrification and intelligence, with accelerating technological iterations, diverse consumer demands, and intensified industry competition, Great Wall Motors must continue to enhance its product differentiation and competitiveness.
