On October 2, media reported that the 2026 Tesla Model Y Performance version is now available for pre-order in the U.S., with a starting price of $57,500.

In fact, the new Tesla Model Y Performance version was already launched in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa on August 29. Pre-orders began in the UK, with the first batch of vehicles expected to be delivered in September. The starting price in the UK is £61,990, which is £2,000 more than the Model 3 Performance version and £10,000 higher than the long-range all-wheel-drive version of the Model Y.
Exterior: The new model features redesigned front and rear bumpers, along with a carbon fiber rear spoiler to enhance aerodynamics and high-speed stability. The wheels and tires have been optimized to improve handling precision. The car’s body also features a “Performance” badge and is paired with 21-inch “Spider” forged wheels, creating a more striking visual effect.
Interior: The interior is equipped with a large 16-inch floating touchscreen display. The dashboard and door panels use genuine carbon fiber trim, enhancing the premium feel. Key features from the regular Model Y, such as the panoramic sunroof and the 8-inch rear entertainment screen, are also retained. The seats are sport-style, similar to those in the Model 3 Performance, offering ventilation and heating functions, along with new electric leg support to improve long-distance driving comfort.
Performance: The vehicle is powered by the latest “Performance 4DU” drive unit, generating a total power output of 460 horsepower. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h. The battery pack features new high-energy-density cells, with a similar weight to the standard version, providing an impressive WLTP range of up to 580 kilometers. The car is also equipped with an adaptive damping suspension system, specifically tuned for the model’s dimensions, featuring new springs, anti-roll bars, and bushings to improve the torsional rigidity of the rear body structure. Additionally, there are customizable driving modes, including a “Crazy Mode,” with the option to adjust traction control intervention levels.
With the new Tesla Model Y Performance now launched in the U.S., it is expected that it may also be introduced to the Chinese market in the future.
