On August 6, XPeng Motors officially unveiled the all-new XPeng P7 and opened pre-sales, though the pre-sale price has not yet been announced. According to the company, the new XPeng P7 will be launched later this month, with display cars arriving in dealerships starting tonight. Customers can place a 99 RMB deposit to offset 3,000 RMB toward the purchase price, which can also be combined with other launch benefits. As a next-generation model, the all-new P7 adopts a completely redesigned exterior that differs significantly from XPeng’s current lineup, features improved smart technology, offers both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions, and delivers a CLTC-rated maximum range of up to 820 km.

Exterior Design
The styling changes are especially striking compared to the current P7’s sleeker look. The new model introduces a completely fresh design: a front fascia with a through-type light strip paired with vertically arranged daytime running lights, with the headlamp units positioned where the two light bars intersect. The vertical light extensions are finished in black, and the bumper incorporates a prominent splitter, enhancing its sporty character.
From the side, the car features a fastback silhouette with a re-optimized roofline for added sportiness. Black trim on the front fender integrates the side-view camera, while the A- and B-pillars are also finished in black, giving a floating roof effect. The wheels adopt an “X” motif reminiscent of XPeng’s logo, although the center caps bear the “XPENG” lettering instead. Additional features include floating-style side mirrors and hidden door handles. At the rear, the light design mirrors the front with a through-type light bar and vertically arranged position lights. The bumper design is fuller, and the car comes with an active rear spoiler. Below the taillight strip sits the “XPENG” logo, flanked by “小鹏” (Xiaopeng) and “P7” badges.
Interior and Technology
Inside, the new XPeng P7 adopts straighter dashboard lines. It features a sporty three-spoke steering wheel with dual rotary knobs for toggling smart driving assistance, suspension settings, and driving modes. Touch pads on the door panels allow control of seat heating/ventilation/massage, front trunk, tailgate, and charging port. The sporty instrument display supports four themes: Music, Driver, Launch Control, and Boost.
The car also introduces a “Tri-Axis Adaptive Screen” with anthropomorphic wake-up, gesture-based directional movement, and “sentinel nodding” functions. Its “Chasing Light” panoramic HUD supports AR lane-level navigation, AR-assisted driving, AR safety alerts, and even interactive AR mini-games. The front sport seats come with integrated headrests; the driver’s seat includes active side bolsters with 30 mm single-side adjustment.
Powertrain
The new P7 will be offered in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants, with AWD cars carrying a “Q” emblem on the fender. The rear-wheel-drive version produces 270 kW, while the AWD (including the “Peng Wing” edition) pairs a 167 kW front motor with a 270 kW rear motor. Depending on configuration, it will be fitted with 74.9 kWh or 92.2 kWh battery packs, supporting CLTC ranges of 702 km, 625 km, 735 km, 750 km, 680 km, and up to 820 km.
Market Position and Context
The XPeng P7 was first launched in April 2020 as the brand’s second mass-production vehicle, priced at 229,900–349,900 RMB. In March 2023, the facelifted P7i debuted, priced at 249,900–339,900 RMB, focusing on upgrades in functionality, comfort, powertrain, handling, and smart systems. Later, in November 2024, XPeng introduced the P7+, priced at 186,800–218,800 RMB, which became the brand’s new sales leader.
Based on its positioning, the all-new P7 is a sporty pure electric sedan that competes against rivals such as the Xiaomi SU7, BYD Han L EV, and IM L6. Data shows that in the first half of 2025, only 886 units of the P7 were sold, compared to 44,576 units of the P7+, making the latter the company’s mainstay.
XPeng CEO He Xiaopeng noted that while the new P7’s design has received high praise from media and customers, the car is not intended for everyone. He described it as a premium product aimed at users who pursue cutting-edge technology and hold idealistic values, rather than a mass-market vehicle. Industry analysts estimate that the new P7 will likely be priced between 250,000 and 350,000 RMB.
