October 20 — Kaiyi Automobile officially launched the Kaiyi Xuanjie Pro Beyond Edition small SUV. The new model is available in two versions: the 1.5L Manual Beyond Edition and the 1.5L CVT Beyond Edition, priced at 69,800 yuan ($9,400 USD) and 77,800 yuan ($10,300 USD) respectively. For comparison, the 2025 Kaiyi Xuanjie Pro currently on sale offers 10 models, with prices ranging from 64,900 to 94,900 yuan ($8,500 to $12,600 USD).
Exterior Design
As a new addition to the lineup, the exterior of the Beyond Edition maintains the design language of the current models on sale. It features a large trapezoidal grille, adorned with horizontal mesh elements. On either side, the car is equipped with headlights that resemble the shape of the number “7,” providing a highly distinctive look, especially when illuminated. The side profile of the vehicle showcases sharp lines, traditional-style door handles, and large, thick-walled tires, contributing to its sporty appearance. In terms of size, the new model measures 4,400 mm in length, 1,831 mm in width, and 1,653 mm in height, with a 2,632 mm wheelbase, positioning it as a small SUV. At the rear, the new model features a continuous light strip design for the tail lights, which offers a high level of recognition when lit. The dual exhaust outlets provide a visually layered appearance.
Interior Design
The 2025 Xuanjie Pro 1.5L offers two interior color options. The vehicle is equipped with a 10.25-inch central touchscreen and a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster. It also includes a leather-wrapped, two-spoke steering wheel, and physical buttons below the central screen. The overall design maintains a modern, technological feel. Standard features include rear parking sensors, reversing video, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, 2-way adjustable steering wheel, four speakers, and keyless start.
Performance
The new model is powered by a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, generating a maximum power of 116 horsepower and a peak torque of 144 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission, depending on the configuration.
Model Lineup
The Kaiyi Xuanjie Pro is part of a broader lineup of vehicles under the Kaiyi brand, which includes Xuanjie, Xuandu, Kunlun, and Shiyue, covering a range of SUVs, sedans, and MPVs. The Xuanjie Pro first launched in July 2021, with five models, and has since undergone several upgrades. In March 2023, Kaiyi introduced the 2025 Xuanjie Pro 1.5L, with four models priced between 64,900 and 79,900 yuan ($8,500 to $10,300 USD).
Sales Data
According to retail data, Kaiyi sold a total of 16,982 vehicles from January to September 2025. The top-selling model was the Kaiyi Kunlun New Energy, with 4,840 units sold, followed by the Kaiyi Shiyue at 4,295 units. The Xuanjie Pro came in fourth with 3,276 units sold, while the Xuanjie Pro EV sold only 400 units.
Market Competition
With its positioning and pricing, the new Xuanjie Pro will compete against models like the Geely Bin Yue and Chery Tiggo 5X. Whether this new launch will lead to increased sales for Kaiyi remains to be seen, and only time will tell.
