At the 2025 Munich Motor Show, Leapmotor unveiled its brand-new model—the Leapmotor Lafa5, which made its global debut and opened for blind pre-orders. According to reports, the Lafa5 is positioned as a compact two-box crossover, featuring a brand-new design language. As planned, the new model will begin deliveries in the domestic market in the fourth quarter of this year, and will enter additional markets next year. In addition, an Ultra version of the Lafa5 will also be available. Compared with the standard model, the Ultra variant comes with sportier body kits, offering a more dynamic appearance, and will be delivered in the domestic market next year.

Exterior Design
At the front, the Lafa5 adopts a popular closed-off grille design paired with a star-ring through-type light bar. The headlights integrate segmented daytime running lights, providing strong visual recognition. The front bumper features a wide multi-slat air intake layout, an AGS active grille system, and a black sporty front lip, enhancing its dynamic appeal. Depending on the configuration, the Lafa5 will offer either a lidar-based intelligent driving system or a purely vision-based solution.
From the side, the vehicle features a fastback-style profile with frameless doors, flush door handles, black exterior mirror housings, and 19-inch sporty wheels, further highlighting its athletic stance. In terms of color options, six paint finishes are available: Electric Yellow, Storm Gray, Midnight Blue, Morgan Pink, Galaxy Silver, and Metallic Black. Notably, Electric Yellow and Storm Gray are exclusive colors for the Lafa5. As for dimensions, the Lafa5 measures 4430/1880/1520 mm (L/W/H), with a wheelbase of 2735 mm. By comparison, the all-new MG4 measures 4395/1842/1551 mm with a 2750 mm wheelbase. At the rear, the Lafa5 is equipped with a full-width taillight design, with the “LEAPMOTOR” lettering embedded in the tailgate for stronger brand recognition. The addition of a diffuser-like element further enhances its sporty and youthful character.
Interior & Powertrain
Details on the interior and powertrain have not yet been officially released. However, it is expected that the Lafa5 will adopt the same pure electric powertrain system as Leapmotor’s B-series models. Considering its market positioning, the Lafa5 is expected to compete with models such as the Volkswagen ID.3, Firefly EV, and the newly launched MG4.
