On September 10, the new-generation IM LS6 officially opened for pre-sale with four variants, available in both all-electric and range-extended configurations. Pre-sale prices range from RMB 197,900 to RMB 269,900 (~USD 27,700–37,800) for the EV versions and RMB 202,900 to RMB 249,900 (~USD 28,500–35,000) for the range-extended models. As a new-generation model, the LS6 debuts IM’s “Stellar” Super Range-Extender System, pairing a 1.5T engine with an electric motor and a 66 kWh battery pack. It offers over 450 km of pure electric range and a combined range exceeding 1,500 km. Compared with the outgoing LS6 (priced RMB 239,900–302,900), the entry price has dropped by RMB 40,000.

Exterior
The front fascia has been significantly revised to accommodate the range-extender system, while retaining a closed grille design. The nose sits higher than before, featuring new T-shaped headlights with vertical light strips, giving a bolder appearance. The lower bumper houses a larger dual-layer trapezoidal air intake with silver trim accents.
From the side, the LS6 maintains its fastback coupe-SUV silhouette, now with a raised front end. Wide fenders, large five-spoke alloy wheels with multi-piston brake calipers, hidden door handles, and blacked-out B- and C-pillars emphasize its sporty stance. Dimensions (both EV and REEV) measure 4937/1988/1673 mm with a 2960 mm wheelbase. At the rear, styling changes are subtle, retaining the full-width light bar and customizable digital display panel.
Interior
Inside, the once full-width display has been redesigned into a connected driver’s screen and central display, creating a layered dashboard layout. A full-width air vent with metallic detailing spans the console. The LS6 offers both a three-spoke round steering wheel and a half-spoke alternative, along with a floating speaker above the dashboard. Physical buttons are positioned below the central screen, while the floating center console includes wireless charging pads, dual cup holders, and storage beneath.
Powertrain Options
Range-Extended Version: 1.5T engine (114 kW) + 230 kW drive motor, paired with either a 52 kWh LFP battery (370 km CLTC) or a 66 kWh NCM battery (450 km CLTC).
All-Electric Version: RWD and AWD offered. RWD available in 245 kW or 300 kW tunes; AWD combines 200 kW front + 300 kW rear motors. Battery options include 76 kWh LFP and 103 kWh NCM, enabling 650 km, 750 km, or up to 802 km CLTC range.
Market Positioning
The IM LS6 is a mid-to-large SUV, competing with rivals such as the Li Auto L6, Zhijie R7, XPeng G9, AITO M7, Dongfeng Yipai 008, and Voyah FREE. From January to August 2025, LS6 sales reached 22,051 units, making it IM’s best-seller, followed by the L6 (14,311 units). Still, compared with competitors—Li Auto L6 (122,401 units) and Zhijie R7 (47,285 units)—IM has considerable room for growth.
Competition is set to intensify: the Voyah FREE+ launched in July (from RMB 219,900), while refreshed versions of the Zhijie R7 and AITO M7 are imminent. All are range-extended models, which will directly challenge the new LS6.
