The report points out that the BMW XM with a V8 engine that is about to be discontinued is sold in the Chinese market, while the BMW XM 50e with a straight-six engine will not be affected and will continue to be produced and supplied for sale in the Chinese market. The car is priced at 14.68 million RMB.
Both the BMW XM Label Red limited edition and the BMW XM 50e were launched at the 2023 Chengdu Auto Show. Among them, the BMW XM Label Red is limited to 500 units, with a price of 2.8 million RMB. It is the most expensive SUV model in the current BMW family. The BMW XM Label Red adopts a two-tone design of black and red, and the front face uses the classic “double-kidney” grille design of BMW. The grille is decorated with red trim, and the internal mesh adopts a horizontal striped layout. It is matched with a split headlight group design on both sides, which looks very domineering in the overall visual effect. In terms of power, it is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 3.0T twin-turbocharged straight-six gasoline engine and a high-performance motor. The combined maximum power is 350kW/476 horsepower, and the peak torque is 700 N·m.
It is understood that the BMW XM is independently developed by the BMW M department and is the second independently developed model in the M series and the first M hybrid power drive system model. In September 2022, the innovative BMW XM was globally premiered. On December 15 of the same year, BMW Group announced the official launch of the innovative BMW XM in China, with a suggested retail price of 2.3 million yuan.
