New BYD DENZA N7 price drops 60,000 RMB directly! Starting at 239,800 RMB.

April 1, the new DENZA N7 was officially launched. There are four models in total, with a price range of 239,800-329,800 RMB. As a facelifted model, the new DENZA N7 adds a 550km entry-level model on the basis of the previous 630km and 702km, providing more choices and lowering the purchase threshold.

In terms of appearance, the new DENZA N7 has been redesigned for the front face, eliminating the “rhythm” and “smart” full-face grille lights used in the current model, and is equipped with parallel designed daytime running lights below the headlights. The front bumper has also been adjusted, reducing the area of the sealed area, and integrating the black crystal lidar panel in the side fog lamp area. For this facelift, the new car also adds a “Xizi Blue” exterior coating, which is younger compared to the old blue.

The side and rear of the body are not adjusted, still in the style of a coupe SUV, equipped with hidden door handles, and a rear spoiler. In terms of size, the length, width, and height of the new DENZA N7 are still 4860/1935/1602mm, and the wheelbase is 2940mm.

Inside the car, the new DENZA N7 is still equipped with a 50-inch AR-HUD, a 17.3-inch central control screen, and a 10.25-inch co-pilot screen. In terms of configuration, it continues to be equipped with Nappa leather seats, 5D cloud-feeling seats, 128-color ambient lights, Devialet audio, and rear seat heating, ventilation, and massage functions.

The new DENZA N7 is equipped with a streaming media inside rearview mirror, and a 2 million-pixel external camera is located below the spoiler. The sub-dashboard area continues to provide 2 50-watt mobile phone wireless charging panels with heat dissipation vents, and the shift lever ball is made of crystal material, with 2 lift cup holders behind it. However, the new car has cancelled the displays and touch buttons located on both sides of the air outlets of the current model.

In terms of power, the new DENZA N7 still provides two power forms of single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive. Among them, the 550 version has a maximum power output of 170kW and a peak torque of 380N·m. The 702 version has a maximum power output of 230kW and a peak torque of 360N·m. The 170kW single-motor vehicle is equipped with a 71.8kWh battery pack, which can provide a cruising range of 550km. The cruising range of the 230kW single-motor vehicle is 702km, and the cruising range of the four-wheel drive vehicle is 630km. In terms of suspension, the 550 model is equipped with the Yunyan-C system and uses an electromagnetic suspension. The 630 two cars are equipped with the Yunyan-A system. In addition to the electromagnetic suspension, the single-chamber air suspension is upgraded to a double-chamber air suspension.

DENZA N7 is the second model launched after the renewal of the DENZA brand and the first SUV, bearing the mission of brand elevation. In July 2023, DENZA N7 was launched, with a price range of 301,800-379,800 RMB, and it offers two forms of rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive on power. In comparison, the starting price of the new DENZA N7 has been lowered by 62,000 RMB, lowering the sales threshold, and it is expected to increase the overall sales volume.

The main competitors of DENZA N7 are mainly medium and large pure electric SUVs, such as Tesla Model Y, NIO ES6, and Xiaopeng G9. Compared with competitors, the configuration and price of the new DENZA N7 are more attractive, but the size is worse than G9 and ES6.

DENZA is an important layout of BYD in the luxury brand market, and DENZA N7 bears the burden of development. In 2023, DENZA retail 127,300 vehicles, of which DENZA D9 was 118,600, and DENZA N7 was 6,437. With the launch of the new model, it can also be seen that DENZA’s sincerity towards this car and its quick response to the market. In recent months, the new energy vehicle market has set off a new round of price wars.

Looking forward to the future, combined with previous reports, DENZA will launch three flagship models this year, including the double-flagship sedan to be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show (competing with Porsche Panamera and Mercedes-Benz S-Class), and the new SUV DENZA N9 to be released at the end of 2024.
