Recently, BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the “Defective Automobile Product Recall Management Regulations” and the “Implementation Measures for the Recall of Defective Automobile Products.”

Effective immediately, a total of 44,535 units of the 2015 Tang series vehicles, produced between March 28, 2015, and July 28, 2017, will be recalled.
Some vehicles within the recall scope may experience abnormal active discharge function of the drive motor controller due to issues with component design and selection. In extreme cases, this could lead to circuit board erosion, failure of the vehicle’s pure electric drive mode, and pose a safety risk.
This recall is being conducted following a defect investigation initiated by the State Administration for Market Regulation. BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. will authorize dealers to update the software of the affected vehicles free of charge and modify the discharge method to motor discharge in order to eliminate the safety hazard.
Effective immediately, a total of 71,248 units of certain Yuan Pro electric vehicles, produced between February 6, 2021, and August 5, 2022, will be recalled.
Some vehicles in this recall scope may have an improperly installed sealing gasket in the power battery due to manufacturing issues, which could lead to a decrease in sealing performance. If the vehicle is exposed to prolonged high-speed water immersion, it may cause water ingress into the power battery, leading to reduced insulation performance. In extreme cases, the power output of the battery may decrease, posing a safety hazard.
This recall is also being conducted following a defect investigation initiated by the State Administration for Market Regulation. BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. will authorize dealers to apply a specialized sealing adhesive to reinforce the power battery casing and restore its waterproof function free of charge to eliminate the safety risk.
