Tesla is reportedly to globally lay off more than 10 percent.

The auto news website Electrek quoted a report in an internal email that the electric vehicle leader Tesla (Tesla) plans to lay off more than 10% globally.

The Media Electrek quoted an email from Tesla’s chief executive officer Musk that “We have conducted a thorough evaluation of the organization and made the difficult decision to reduce the number of global employees by more than 10%.”
Tesla did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

According to Tesla’s latest annual report, as of December last year, the company had about 140,500 employees globally.
