92,544 Mercedes-Benz vehicles are recalled in China.

April 12, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automotive Sales Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Requirements of the Regulations on the Recall Administration of Defective Automotive Products and the Implementing Measures for the Regulations on the Recall Administration of Defective Automotive Products. Starting from April 12, 2024, the following vehicles will be recalled.

First, some imported E-class, CLS, and GT vehicles with production dates between November 24, 2021, and March 10, 2023, totaling 2,790 vehicles. Within the scope of this recall, some of the vehicles have the grounding end fixing bolts of the battery ground wire installed in the engine compartment may not be properly tightened, resulting in an increase in the resistance of the grounding point. If a large current passes through, the temperature at this point may rise, posing a risk of fire. Based on this, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automotive Sales Co., Ltd. will provide free inspection and tightening of the grounding wire fixing bolts for the vehicles within the recall scope. If there are related parts damaged, they will be replaced to eliminate safety hazards.

Second, some imported GLE SUV vehicles with production dates between May 3, 2023, and May 10, 2023, totaling 79 vehicles. Within the scope of this recall, some of the accelerator pedal module brackets of the vehicles are not firmly welded to the body. After long-term use, the accelerator pedal module may separate from the body, resulting in the inability to use the accelerator pedal normally. In extreme cases, the accelerator pedal may get stuck between the body and the brake pedal, affecting the use of the brake pedal, posing a safety hazard. Mercedes-Benz (China) Automotive Sales Co., Ltd. will change the affected welding points of the accelerator pedal module bracket of the vehicles within the recall scope to rivet fixation to eliminate safety hazards.

Third, one imported G-class vehicle with a production date of April 5, 2023. Within the scope of this recall, the vehicle may not have been filled with the specified air conditioning refrigerant. If the vehicle is involved in a collision resulting in refrigerant leakage, there is a risk of fire. Mercedes-Benz (China) Automotive Sales Co., Ltd. will replace the air conditioning refrigerant for the vehicle within the recall scope free of charge to eliminate safety hazards.

Fourth, some imported GLE SUV and GLS SUV vehicles with production dates between July 5, 2018, and January 7, 2023, totaling 89,674 vehicles. Within the scope of this recall, some of the vehicles have the grounding end fixing bolts of the battery ground wire installed under the passenger seat may not be properly tightened, resulting in an increase in the resistance of the grounding point. If a large current passes through, the temperature at this point may rise, posing a risk of fire. Mercedes-Benz (China) Automotive Sales Co., Ltd. will provide free inspection and tightening of the grounding wire fixing bolts for the vehicles within the recall scope. If there are related parts damaged, they will be replaced to eliminate safety hazards.
