BYD Seal 06 EV Makes Its Debut at the Auto Show

On May 31, the 2025 Greater Bay Area Auto Show officially opened, where BYD unveiled its latest model—the Seal 06 EV—and began taking pre-orders. The new model, a pure electric mid-size sedan under BYD’s Ocean Network, is built on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo and equipped with advanced technologies such as the “God’s Eye C” triple-camera driver-assistance system and Yun-Nian C suspension control. Pricing is set between RMB 120,000 and RMB 150,000 (~USD 16,800–21,000), with market launch scheduled for June.

The Seal 06 EV first premiered at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year. At the Greater Bay Area Auto Show, BYD revealed more product details.

Exterior
The sedan adopts BYD’s Ocean Network design language, with a closed grille, sharp irregular headlights, and a minimalist dual-layer bumper design with side air inlets, appealing to younger buyers. Its fastback profile features sleek lines, semi-hidden door handles, 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels, and a panoramic sunroof.

Dimensions are 4720/1880/1495 mm with a 2820 mm wheelbase, making it slightly longer (+90 mm) and taller (+5 mm) than the Seal 06 GT. At the rear, a full-width LED light bar and silver trim accents enhance refinement.

Interior
Inside, the Seal 06 EV uses BYD’s latest two-tone cabin design. It features a 15.6-inch floating touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, flat-bottom steering wheel, and column-mounted shifter. Premium options include wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, integrated sport seats, and even a mini fridge. The “God’s Eye C” driver-assistance suite combines a triple forward camera with 29 sensors, enabling functions such as panoramic view, AEB, and collision warning.

Powertrain
The EV uses a rear-mounted single motor rated at 110 kW, paired with BYD’s Blade LFP battery. Suspension consists of front MacPherson struts and rear multi-link independent setup.

Market and Outlook
As a new pure electric mid-size sedan, the Seal 06 EV will compete with models like the XPeng MONA M03 and Arcfox Alpha S5. Its design, intelligent features, and competitive pricing position it as a strong contender in China’s EV market.

From January to April 2025, BYD sold 1.3809 million NEVs, up 46.98% year-on-year. The company has set a 2025 sales target of 5.5 million units, including over 800,000 units in overseas markets. At this year’s Greater Bay Area Auto Show, BYD took over the entire Hall 1, showcasing the full lineup from Dynasty, Ocean, Denza, Yangwang, and Fangchengbao brands. With recent launches including the Qin L EV, Yangwang U7, Han L, Tang L, Titan 3, and e7, BYD continues to strengthen its product matrix and accelerate its push against joint-venture ICE competitors.
