At the 2025 Munich Motor Show, Leapmotor unveiled its brand-new model—the Leapmotor Lafa5—for its global debut and simultaneously opened blind pre-orders. According to information available, the Leapmotor Lafa5 is positioned as a compact two-box crossover, adopting a brand-new design language. Deliveries in the Chinese market are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, with entry into additional markets planned for next year. In addition, an Ultra version will be offered. Compared with the standard model, the Ultra variant features a sportier body kit, giving it a stronger athletic appearance, and is set to be delivered domestically starting next year.

Exterior Design
At the front, the new model features a popular closed-off grille design paired with a star-ring through-type light bar. Inside the headlamp cluster are segmented daytime running lights, creating a distinctive visual signature. The lower front bumper incorporates a wide multi-slat air intake design, an AGS active air intake grille, and a black sporty front lip, enhancing the athletic feel. Depending on configuration, the vehicle will be available with either a lidar-based intelligent driving solution or a pure-vision solution.
On the side, the car adopts a fastback silhouette combined with frameless doors, flush door handles, black mirror caps, and 19-inch sporty wheels, all of which strengthen its dynamic look. In terms of color, six options will be offered: Electric Yellow, Gale Grey, Midnight Blue, Morgan Pink, Galaxy Silver, and Metallic Black. Of these, Electric Yellow and Gale Grey are exclusive to the Lafa5. The vehicle measures 4,430 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,520 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,735 mm. For comparison, the all-new MG4 measures 4,395/1,842/1,551 mm with a 2,750 mm wheelbase. At the rear, the car sports a full-width taillight design, with “LEAPMOTOR” lettering prominently placed at the center of the tailgate for added recognition. A diffuser element inspired by sports cars further highlights the youthful and sporty character of the model.
Interior and Powertrain
Details regarding the interior and powertrain have not yet been officially released, but the Lafa5 is expected to adopt the same all-electric system used in Leapmotor’s B-series. Based on its market positioning, the Lafa5 is expected to compete with models such as the Volkswagen ID.3, the Firefly, and the recently launched MG4.
