Company Background
Seres Group was founded in September 1986 as Chongqing Xiaokang Industrial Group Co., Ltd. Its EV brand, Seres Auto, was established in January 2016 and received official production approval in January 2017. On June 25, 2025, Seres announced that its subsidiary Seres Auto would introduce strategic investors in a RMB 5 billion capital increase, with participation from several financial and industrial investment institutions. The company said the move would strengthen Seres Auto’s capital base, support long-term strategic growth, reduce its debt-to-asset ratio, and promote sustainable development.
Sales Performance
AITO (Wenjie), co-developed with Huawei, is Seres Auto’s core brand, contributing the majority of its sales. Within this, Seres Auto sold 152,200 units, a drop of 16.63% compared with the same period last year.
Currently, the AITO Wenjie lineup includes the M5, M7, M9, and M8, covering segments from mid-size to large SUVs, priced between RMB 200,000 and 600,000 (≈ USD 27,000–83,000).
