
On August 28, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) of the People’s Republic of China released a recall announcement, involving major automakers including Stellantis (Shanghai) Automobile Co., Ltd. and BMW (China) Automotive Trading Co., Ltd.
Due to deviations in the vehicle production process, the frames of some high-voltage battery modules may be accidentally damaged. This damage could easily cause the vehicle’s high-voltage electrical system to shut down, with a fault warning message appearing on the instrument panel. In extreme cases, it may even lead to thermal runaway of the battery modules, posing a safety hazard.
The company has filed a recall plan with the SAMR. The recall covers,4 units of imported BMW iX vehicles produced between September 23, 2021, and September 30, 2021;1unit of imported BMW M760Le vehicle produced on June 21, 2023.The official stated that it will replace the affected battery modules free of charge for vehicles within the recall scope to eliminate the safety hazard.
Due to a software issue, when the vehicle is shifted into reverse gear, the infotainment display may fail to show the reverse camera feed. This impairs the driver’s visibility during reversing, increases the risk of vehicle collisions, and thus poses a safety hazard.Stellantis (Shanghai) Automobile Co., Ltd. announced the recall of 134 units of imported Tonale vehicles, specifically those produced between October 6, 2023, and May 13, 2024. The official will upgrade the infotainment control module software free of charge for vehicles within the recall scope to eliminate the safety hazard.
Due to a manufacturing defect in the All-New Grand Cherokee 4xe, there is interference in the locking mechanism inside the second-row seat headrests. This may result in the headrest remaining in a forward-folded position even when the seat returns to an upright state. In extreme cases, such as a vehicle collision, this will increase the risk of occupant injury, posing a safety hazard.The official announced that starting from September 29, 2025, it will recall 1,861 units of imported All-New Grand Cherokee 4xe vehicles produced between May 25, 2023, and October 9, 2023.
