On September 24, Chery Automobile officially released the official images of the Tiggo 9X. The 2026 Tiggo 9 family is expected to launch on September 27, with the new vehicle likely to be released at the same time. For reference, the current fuel version of the Tiggo 9 is priced between 152,900 and 203,900 RMB, while the Tiggo 9 C-DM is priced between 165,900 and 175,900 RMB.
According to the official images, the front design of the new vehicle is largely consistent with the 2026 fuel version of the Tiggo 9. It features a large octagonal grille with chrome bars in a straight waterfall style, and the brand logo in the center continues to be illuminated. A noticeable difference from the 2026 fuel version is the revised front bumper and headlight design, which now shares a style more similar to the Tiggo 8L. The headlights are narrower and sharper, giving the car a more youthful appearance.
On the side, the overall design of the new vehicle closely resembles the Tiggo 9 fuel version, with hidden door handles. A difference is the addition of an unpainted material side skirt along the lower edge of the door, giving it a sportier look. At the rear, the tail light is expected to feature a full-width design. For reference, the 2026 fuel version of the Tiggo 9 also has a full-width tail light design. As for the interior and powertrain, the official details have not been released. For reference, the 2026 Tiggo 9 fuel version is equipped with a 2.0T engine, model SQRF4J20, producing a maximum net power of 180 kW. The 2025 Tiggo 9 is equipped with a 2.0T engine, model SQRF4J20C, producing a maximum net power of 183 kW, with the transmission system offering options of a 7-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox or an 8-speed automatic transmission. Based on the current information for the Tiggo 9X, it is expected to compete with models like the Changan UNI-K, Hongqi HS5, and Xingtu Yaoguang.
Chery’s official website shows that the company currently offers products in the Tiggo and Arrizo series, covering small SUVs, compact SUVs, mid-size SUVs, and compact cars. The Tiggo series includes models like the Tiggo 8, Tiggo 7, Tiggo 3X, Tiggo 5X, and Tiggo 9. The Tiggo 9 was launched in May 2023, with a current price range of 152,900 to 203,900 RMB. The vehicle is based on the new T2X Mars platform and is positioned as a mid-size SUV.
Retail data shows that from January to August this year, the top three best-selling models for Chery were the Tiggo, Arrizo 8, and Tiggo 7, with cumulative sales of 120,200, 89,800, and 36,800 units, respectively. Additionally, the Tiggo 5X and Tiggo 9 had sales of 36,800 and 25,600 units, respectively.
