Recently, Skyworth Auto launched a new variant of its EV6 model, the “Flash Edition +”, with a guide price of RMB 246,800 (≈ USD 34,000). The new version adopts an 800V architecture and offers a CLTC pure electric driving range of 520 km. For comparison, the EV6 Flash Edition, launched in January this year, was priced at RMB 238,800 (≈ USD 32,950). The “Flash Edition +” is positioned as a mid-level trim within the EV6 lineup.

Exterior Design
The appearance remains consistent with the standard EV6. The front adopts a popular closed-off grille design, with L-shaped metallic trim pieces on both sides, giving it a more fashionable look. At the rear, the car is equipped with through-type taillights, with the Skyworth English logo in the center, enhancing recognition when lit. The body features black cladding for a sportier feel. Dimensions measure 4,720 × 1,908 × 1,696 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.
Interior & Features
Inside, the design follows a minimalist style, featuring a flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel, a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, and a 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen. Physical air-conditioning buttons and a rotary gear selector are retained. The model maintains a five-seat layout and comes equipped with L2.5-level driver assistance and the Skylink intelligent connectivity system. Features include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, traffic sign recognition, blind spot monitoring, front/rear cross-traffic alerts, multiple driving modes, a power tailgate, faux leather seats, power-adjustable and heated front seats, automatic air conditioning with rear vents, parking sensors, a 360° panoramic camera, cruise control, online navigation, and smartphone app remote control.
Powertrain & Technology
The Flash Edition + is powered by a front-mounted single motor with a maximum output of 250 kW and peak torque of 340 Nm. It carries a 65.71 kWh battery pack, delivering a CLTC-rated range of 520 km. A standout feature of this version is its non-contact health monitoring technology, which can measure blood pressure and heart rate through imaging, and includes a smart EEG-based sleep mask capable of monitoring brain waves and sleep quality.
Health-Oriented Features Across the EV6 Line
This is not the first EV6 variant with health-focused features. Recently, Skyworth launched the EV6 “Xi Ai Premium Edition,” priced at RMB 398,000 (≈ USD 54,900), which includes wellness-focused seats, one-touch full recline for the driver’s seat, and the EEG smart sleep mask. Earlier, in 2023, Skyworth introduced the EV6 “Fuxing Edition” at RMB 139,800 (≈ USD 19,300), marketed with “active sleep promotion technology” to scientifically induce and monitor deep sleep.
Sales Performance & Market Challenges
Despite these unique health-related selling points, the EV6 has not achieved strong sales. The latest monthly sales reached just 318 units, with cumulative sales of 1,019 units from January to May this year.
Skyworth Auto traces its roots back to Tianmei Auto, founded by Skyworth Group Chairman Huang Hongsheng. In 2011, Huang reorganized Xiamen King Long and Nanjing Dongyu Auto to establish Kaiwo Auto, and later moved into the NEV sector. After obtaining passenger car production approval in 2017, Kaiwo launched Tianmei Auto in 2019 with its first model, the ET5, priced between RMB 152,800 and 198,800. Due to low brand awareness, sales were weak. In 2021, Tianmei was rebranded as Skyworth Auto, and the ET5 evolved into the Skyworth EV6, priced between RMB 152,800 and 249,800 (≈ USD 21,000–34,500).
Since launch, however, the EV6 has struggled to stand out. Industry observers point out that most consumers prioritize range, battery technology, and safety over health-related features. Compared with competitors in the same price range, the EV6 lacks a clear cost-performance advantage. Combined with limited brand influence, this has hindered sales growth.
