Recently, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automotive Sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd., in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of Defective Automobile Product Recalls and the Implementation Measures of the Regulations on the Administration of Defective Automobile Product Recalls, filed recall plans with the State Administration for Market Regulation.

Due to the possibility that the steering coupling bolts may not have been tightened to the specified torque, the mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the steering rack may gradually loosen. In extreme cases, this could result in a loss of steering control, posing a safety hazard. Starting immediately, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automotive Sales Co., Ltd. is recalling a total of 302 imported GLC and EQE vehicles produced between October 20, 2022 and May 20, 2025. To address the defect, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automotive Sales Co., Ltd. will, through authorized Mercedes-Benz dealers, inspect the affected vehicles and, if necessary, re-tighten the steering coupling bolts free of charge to eliminate the safety risk.
In addition, because the high-voltage busbar bolts in the high-voltage power battery may not have been properly tightened, there is a risk of occasional interruption in power transmission, which could increase the risk of collision and pose a safety hazard. Starting from September 25, 2025, Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. will recall a total of 14 domestically produced EQB vehicles manufactured between April 11, 2022 and March 22, 2023. To address this defect, Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. will, through authorized Mercedes-Benz dealers, replace the high-voltage power battery of the affected vehicles free of charge to eliminate the safety risk.
Both the Mercedes-Benz EQB and EQE are all-electric models under the Mercedes-EQ brand. The EQB made its global debut at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show, based on the gasoline-powered GLB, and was officially launched at the 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show, with the EQB 350 4MATIC priced at RMB 437,800. The current market models, launched in August 2024, include the EQB 260 and EQB 350 4MATIC, priced at RMB 352,000 and RMB 428,000 respectively.
The EQE is the first domestically produced all-electric model under the Mercedes-EQ brand developed on the EVA pure-electric platform. It was officially launched in October 2022 with three debut models priced between RMB 528,000 and RMB 585,000. The current market models, launched in November 2024, include the Pioneer Edition (RMB 478,000), Luxury Edition (RMB 496,000), and Flagship Edition (RMB 627,000).
Separately, Aston Martin Lagonda (China) Automotive Sales Co., Ltd. has announced a recall, effective immediately, of six Vanquish Coupe vehicles produced between December 17, 2024 and April 30, 2025. The recall is due to a software issue with the brake control unit (ESP), which may incorrectly disable the electronic vacuum pump of the braking system when the vehicle is started. This could lead to insufficient brake assist, reduced braking performance, and an increased risk of accidents, posing a safety hazard. To address the defect, Aston Martin Lagonda (China) Automotive Sales Co., Ltd. will, through authorized dealers, update the ESP software on the affected vehicles free of charge to eliminate the safety risk.
