Price Cut! NIO Adjusts Battery and Service Prices

Today, NIO officially announced an adjustment to the battery pricing strategy for all its battery packs. Among them, the price of NIO’s 100kWh long-range battery pack has been reduced by 20,000 yuan, dropping from the original 128,000 yuan to 108,000 yuan. This price reduction strategy covers both the 400V and 900V electrical platforms.

In addition, the prices of all new models purchased with the 100kWh long-range battery pack as a whole vehicle have also been adjusted simultaneously, with a reduction of 20,000 yuan. It is understood that the models involved this time include ET5, ET5T, ES6, EC6, ET7, EC7, ET7 Signature Edition, ET9, ET9 Signature Edition, etc. Adjustments have also been made to the battery upgrade service: the previously 58,000 yuan permanent battery upgrade service has been adjusted to 38,000 yuan (cannot be deducted with points).

For users who have purchased a vehicle with the 100kWh long-range battery pack but not yet taken delivery, the official stated that delivery will be arranged according to the adjusted price. For users who took delivery between January 1 and August 18, 2025, NIO will issue a 20,000 yuan renewal gift voucher, which can be directly used to reduce the vehicle price when users later purchase or trade in for a new NIO brand vehicle, but cannot be used for repurchasing vehicles of the (Ledao) or (Yinghuo) brands. Regarding this adjustment to batteries and services, the official stated that the main purpose is to respond to market demand and significantly improve users’ affordability and flexibility of experience.

It is worth mentioning that since the beginning of this year, competition in the new energy vehicle market has become increasingly fierce. Against this background, NIO urgently needs to accelerate the improvement of sales volume. Data shows that NIO’s latest sales volume in July was 21,017 units, achieving a year-on-year growth of 2.53%. Although it has achieved year-on-year growth, compared with other leading new car-making forces, NIO’s sales volume still needs to be further improved.

In fact, to boost sales, NIO has accelerated the launch of new models this year. For example, it launched the all-new NIO ES6/EC6 and ET5/ET5T models in May. At the same time, at the end of last month, its Ledao brand launched the flagship model Ledao L90. It is understood that the new car is positioned as a large SUV, offering six-seat and seven-seat versions, and has launched Pro, Max, and Ultra editions respectively. Among them, the six-seat version starts at 265,800 yuan for whole-vehicle purchase, and the BaaS (Battery as a Service) battery leasing price starts at 179,800 yuan; the seven-seat version starts at 271,800 yuan for whole-vehicle purchase, and the BaaS battery leasing price starts at 185,800 yuan. According to official information, the cumulative delivery of the new car exceeded 4,000 units 10 days after its launch.

NIO CEO William Li is very optimistic about the arrival of the new car. In an interview with the media, he said that the L90 can help NIO achieve sustained and stable operation of the company. “Because it is a very important strategic product of NIO and Ledao, and also an innovative work in the family large three-row SUV segment. This is a qualitative change that has occurred after ten years of technological innovation and continuous investment in infrastructure, so we are currently confident in achieving profitability in the fourth quarter. This is also a very unified goal of the entire company, and we have made a lot of adjustments and efforts for this.”

This official adjustment of battery and service prices has, to a certain extent, lowered the threshold for vehicle purchase and will play a role in promoting sales volume.
