On the evening of August 27, the all-new XPeng P7 under XPeng Motors was officially launched. The new car has launched 4 models in total, with a price range of 219,800-301,800 yuan.
As a replacement model, the new car has been redesigned in both exterior and interior, and a Pengyi (Scissor Door) version is available as an option. The overall changes are very obvious. In terms of intelligence, there is also a significant improvement. It is equipped with 3 Turing AI chips as standard. In terms of power, it is built based on the full-domain 800V platform architecture, offering rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive models, with a maximum CLTC cruising range of 820 kilometers.
In terms of appearance, the new car adopts the new XMART FACE design language, bringing a sharper visual impact. The front face of the new car features a closed grille design, accompanied by a brand LOGO that can emit light, which has extremely high recognition when lit. In terms of the light group, the new car uses a horizontal through-type and vertical layout of daytime running light strips. The headlight group is located at the intersection of the horizontal and vertical light strips. The extension line of the vertical light strip is painted black, creating a strong sense of fashion and sportiness. In addition, the front surround of the new car adopts an inverted trapezoidal cooling opening design with a front splitter shape, showing a good sporty attribute.
On the side of the car body, the new car has smooth and rich lines, adopting a (fastback) styling layout. The A/B pillars are painted black to create a floating roof visual effect. It is also equipped with hidden door handles and floating exterior rearview mirrors, presenting a simple and elegant visual effect. In terms of body colors, the new car offers a total of 6 colors for consumers to choose from: Starry Sky Green, Starry Dusk Purple, Rhythm Yellow, New Moon Silver, Starlight Blue, and Micro Star Gray. In terms of dimensions, the all-new XPeng P7 has a length, width, and height of 5017/1970/1427mm, with a wheelbase of 3008mm, positioning it as a mid-to-large-sized car.
At the rear of the car, the new car’s taillights adopt a horizontal through-type light strip and a vertical layout of position lights, echoing the front face, and have high recognition when lit. Below the light strip is the “XPENG” logo, and on the left and right sides are the “Xiaopeng” and “P7” tail labels respectively, further enhancing the vehicle’s recognition. The rear surround of the new car has a full shape, equipped with an electric lift rear wing and a liftback tailgate, creating a strong sense of sportiness.
In terms of the interior, the changes of the new car are also very obvious. The car offers 3 color options: Deep Space Gray, Qiyu Gray, and Starry Purple. The seats are wrapped in Nappa leather and Dinamica suede materials, highlighting a high-end texture. In terms of configuration, the new car’s center console is equipped with a 15.6-inch three-axis flexible screen, which supports multi-angle swing and has interactions such as anthropomorphic wake-up and sliding orientation. In addition, the new car’s 8.8-inch full LCD instrument panel is embedded in the center console, and it is equipped with a three-spoke sport steering wheel, which is highly technological overall. In terms of driving assistance, the new car is equipped with 3 Turing AI chips as standard, which can support multiple functions such as full-scenario assisted driving and urban NGP.
In terms of power, the new car adopts a full-domain 800V high-voltage silicon carbide platform, providing two types of power: rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. Among them, the maximum power of the drive motor for the rear-wheel drive model is 270kW; the maximum power of the front and rear motors for the four-wheel drive model is 167kW and 270kW respectively. In terms of batteries, the new car is equipped with a 5C super-fast charging AI battery. The rear-wheel drive model is equipped with 74.9kWh and 92.2kWh battery packs, with CLTC cruising ranges of 702km and 820km respectively; the four-wheel drive model is equipped with a 92.2kWh battery pack, with a CLTC cruising range of 750km.
It is understood that the XPeng P7 is the second mass-produced vehicle under XPeng Motors, which was launched in April 2020 with a price range of 229,900-349,900 yuan; in March 2023, the mid-term facelifted XPeng P7i was launched with a price range of 249,900-339,900 yuan. In November 2024, XPeng Motors launched the P7+ model with a price range of 186,800-218,800 yuan. Although the car is named “XPeng P7+”, it is a completely different model from the XPeng P7. The XPeng P7+ is positioned as a mid-to-large-sized coupe and is the largest sedan of XPeng Motors.
The all-new XPeng P7 launched this time has obvious improvements in terms of exterior design, configuration, and intelligence, with many overall highlights. Judging from the positioning and price of the new car, as a mid-to-large-sized car, the all-new XPeng P7 will compete with popular models on the market such as the Xiaomi SU7 and BYD Han L EV. On the morning of today, XPeng Motors announced on its official Weibo that the all-new XPeng P7 achieved a time of 1 minute and 38.767 seconds at the Zhejiang International Circuit, ranking 37th in the lap time list. XPeng Motors stated that lap time is not the ultimate goal; testing dynamic performance on the track and creating a coupe that is “addictive” to drive, with stable handling and safety for users is the ultimate goal of XPeng Motors.
