Background of Aishang Auto
Aishang Auto is a joint venture between Liuzhou Wuling and Henan Senyuan.
Liuzhou Wuling, founded in June 2021, is based in Liuzhou, Guangxi, and is owned 63.1% by Guangxi Automobile Group, 12.8% by Wuling Automobile Group, and 11.8% by Liuzhou Wuling Automobile Industry, totaling 87.7% combined control.
The remaining 12.3% is held by Xuchang Jintou Holding Group and others.
Liuzhou Wuling previously focused on light commercial vehicles—minivans, microtrucks, refrigerated vans—under the “Lingshi Auto” brand.
Because Guangxi Automobile Group held a limited stake in SAIC-GM-Wuling, it sought to expand into passenger EVs through a partnership with Henan Senyuan Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd., forming the Aishang Auto brand.
Market and Competitors
The Aishang A100C directly competes with the Changan Lumin, which shares similar dimensions, power, and battery specs.
It also faces competition from SAIC-GM-Wuling’s Hongguang MINI EV, another micro EV with a massive user base—though technically a different company, it’s still Wuling-related.
In September, Hongguang MINI EV sold 51,743 units, Changan Lumin sold 23,188, and both Geely Panda and Bestune Pony exceeded 10,000 units each.
As a new brand, Aishang Auto’s pricing and marketing will be crucial to carving out its place in this highly competitive market.
