Ford Launches 2026 Mustang Mach-E California Special Edition

On October 22, during the 1960s, the Ford Mustang gained immense popularity in California. To pay tribute to the state’s dealerships, Ford Motor Company introduced a special edition — the “California Special” package — which first appeared on the 1968 Mustang. Now, Ford continues this classic tradition into the electric era by launching the same special edition for the 2026 Mustang Mach-E.

The original California Special models featured black and red exterior accents, while the new version introduces an exclusive color called “Rave Blue,” which was first seen on the gasoline-powered Mustang GT / CS models. On the electric Mach-E, blue accents highlight the predominantly black hood stripes, the outline of the rear GT badge, the illuminated pony emblem on the front grille, and the wheel edges. The vehicle comes with 20-inch wheels equipped with black aerodynamic covers.

The California Special package is available only for the more powerful Mach-E GT model, which features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering a maximum output of 359 kW and peak torque of 860 Nm. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Mach-E GT has an estimated range of 280 miles (approximately 451 kilometers).

Inside, the 2026 Mustang Mach-E GT / CS is equipped with sporty seats upholstered in a special material known as “Navy Pier,” complemented by silver trim and reflective blue details. The same “Navy Pier” material also covers the dashboard and steering wheel. The floor mats echo the seat design, featuring dual-tone blue and silver stitching.

The 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E will open for pre-orders in the U.S. starting October 22. Although Ford has not yet released full pricing for the lineup, the company confirmed that the California Special package will add $2,495 to the base price of the Mach-E GT. The first deliveries are expected to begin in the first quarter of next year.
