Commercial Director Xu Tiansheng was suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and is currently undergoing disciplinary review and supervisory investigation by the Discipline Inspection Commission of Dongfeng Company and the Supervisory Committee of Shiyan City, Hubei Province.
It is understood that Xu Tiansheng graduated from Hubei Automobile Industry College with a major in industrial enterprise management. He served as a member of the first new board of directors of Dongfeng Xinjiang Automobile Co., Ltd., assistant vice president of Dongfeng Co., Ltd., director of the business planning department of the commercial vehicle company, deputy general manager of Dongfeng Special Purpose Vehicle, The deputy general manager of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Company, the director of the military product management department of Dongfeng Motor Corporation, the deputy general manager of Dongfeng Yueda Kia Motors Co., Ltd., is the commercial director of Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd., and was investigated during his tenure.
In October 2023, Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd. accepted the second round of inspections by the 20th Central Committee, and 15 inspection teams worked in the inspected units for about 2 months. It is understood that since the central inspection team was stationed, at least 10 Dongfeng Company executives have been investigated, including Chen Yafu, the former chief professional of Dongfeng Light Engine Co., Ltd., Li Puming, executive committee member of Dongfeng Company Xiangyang Da’an Automobile Inspection Center Co., Ltd., Dongfeng Company Lu Weidong, the honorary chairman of Dongfeng Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., and Hu Xindong, the former executive vice president of Dongfeng Renault Automobile Co., Ltd., were successively investigated. Earlier, Tong Dongcheng, former member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd., Gao Xianli, former director of the marketing center of DPCA Co., Ltd., Rao Jie, former head of the New Business Strategy Promotion Office of the Product Planning Department of DPCA Co., Ltd., and Dongfeng Design Research Institute Co., Ltd. Zhou Kun, the company’s former executive general manager, and Huo Jing, the former marketing and public relations director of Zhengzhou Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., have also become targets of disciplinary review and supervisory investigation.
Apart from Dongfeng, there is probably no other car company that has demonstrated its continued high-pressure anti-corruption stance. Of course, this also reflects from the side that compared with other automobile groups, internal corruption of Dongfeng Company has penetrated into every link and still requires more in-depth review and investigation.
On March 29, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held a meeting to review the “Comprehensive Report on the Second Round of Inspections of the 20th Central Committee.” Xi Jinping chaired the meeting. The meeting pointed out that from the inspection, party building in centrally managed enterprises and relevant functional departments has been strengthened, and new results have been achieved in comprehensive and strict party governance. However, there are still some problems that must be paid high attention to politically and resolved seriously.
