On August 25th, the highly anticipated first model of Shangjie Auto, the Shangjie H5, officially launched its pre-sale. With a starting pre-price of 169,800 yuan, it has become the most affordable Harmony Intelligent Mobility model. As planned, the new car will be launched on September 23rd.

In terms of appearance, the new car adopts the family design language of Harmony Intelligent Mobility, presenting an overall rounded and full visual effect. Specifically, the front face of the new car features a popular closed grille design, paired with sharp-looking headlight groups on both sides, which not only gives it a high visual recognition but also makes the vehicle more dynamic. The air intake grille at the bottom of the front bumper incorporates an active opening and closing function, and there are air vent designs on both sides, demonstrating good sporty attributes. In addition, the new car is also equipped with a luminous LOGO, an intelligent driving blue light, and a lidar, which are full of a sense of technology.
On the side of the vehicle body, the new car adopts a straight roof line design, which provides a relatively comfortable interior space and can better meet the needs of family car use. Moreover, the new car does not use the hidden door handle design commonly used in new energy vehicles; instead, it is equipped with a conventional handle design. The edge of the car window is decorated with silver chrome trim, giving a quite exquisite visual layering. In terms of dimensions, the pure electric version and the extended-range version of the new car are consistent. The length, width, and height are 4780/1910/1657 (1664) mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2840 mm, positioning it as a mid-size SUV.
At the rear of the vehicle, the new car adopts a relatively simple design style and is equipped with a popular through-type taillight, which has high recognition when lit. The rear is also equipped with a large-sized rear spoiler and a rear wiper, and the lower part is decorated with chrome elements, making the vehicle more exquisite and atmospheric. In terms of exhaust, the extended-range version adopts a hidden exhaust layout.
In the interior, the new car features a minimalist wrap-around design, with a combination of dark upper and light lower colors. The center console and the sub-instrument panel are both equipped with wood grain trim. The seats are covered with leather material and adopt a perforation process, looking very comfortable in texture. In terms of configuration, the new car is equipped with a floating central control screen and a full LCD instrument panel. In addition, it also uses the latest three-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel with dual roller physical function keys, with the “Shangjie” LOGO inlaid in the middle, and applies a column-type shift mechanism. In terms of assisted driving, the new car is equipped with the HUAWEI ADS 4 assisted driving system. In terms of seat layout, the new car adopts a 2+3 five-seat layout.
In terms of power, the new car offers two power options: the extended-range version and the pure electric version. Among them, the extended-range version is equipped with a 1.5L engine produced by SAIC Motor Corporation Limited with the model 15FMC as the range extender, with a maximum power of 72 kW, and its CLTC comprehensive cruising range exceeds 1300 km. The pure electric version, depending on the configuration, provides drive motors with maximum powers of 150 kW and 180 kW respectively, and the CLTC pure electric cruising range is up to 655 km.
SAIC Shangjie is a new brand jointly established by SAIC Group and Huawei. The two parties signed a in-depth cooperation agreement on February 21st and then officially made its debut at the Harmony Intelligent Mobility New Product Launch Conference on April 16th. SAIC Shangjie is also the fifth brand under Harmony Intelligent Mobility, adopting the Huawei Smart Selection car model, and positioning itself as “Fashionable in Style, Cutting-edge in Technology, Reliable in Trust, and For Everyone”. The Shangjie H5 is the first model of Shangjie Auto. From the perspective of the product configuration of this new car, what is most eye-catching is that it is fully equipped with the Harmony cabin as standard, and the high-end models are equipped with Huawei’s latest assisted driving system HUAWEI ADS 4. At the same time, the pre-sale price of the new car has dropped to the 200,000-yuan level, becoming the cheapest Harmony Intelligent Mobility model. Based on the comprehensive analysis of the positioning and pre-sale price of the new car, after its launch, it will compete with models such as BYD Tang DM/EV, Leapmotor C11, and L60.
At today’s press conference, Yu Chengdong, Executive Director of Huawei and Chairman of the Terminal BG, stated that as of August 25th, the cumulative delivery of Harmony Intelligent Mobility has exceeded 900,000 units, and it is expected that the delivery will exceed 1 million units in October this year. Before Shangjie Auto, Harmony Intelligent Mobility has already laid out four brands, namely AITO Wenjie in cooperation with Seres, LUXEED Zhijie in cooperation with Chery, STELATO Xiangjie in cooperation with BAIC, and MAEXTRO Zunjie in cooperation with JAC.
As for whether the Shangjie H5, the first SUV of Shangjie Auto, the fifth brand under Harmony Intelligent Mobility, can subvert the pattern of the 200,000-level SUV market and become the next “hit” model of Harmony Intelligent Mobility, it depends on the final price of the new car.
