On July 28th, the official images of the new AITO Wenjie M7, a model under Huawei’s HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility brand, were officially released. Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s Executive Director and Chairman of the Consumer Business Group, stated on Weibo that the new Wenjie M7 would be a completely new product, both inside and out. The car will offer both extended-range and pure electric versions, with its official release scheduled for September. For reference, the currently available Wenjie M7 is equipped with an extended-range power system, with a price range of 249,800 to 329,800 RMB.

According to the official images, the newly released color option for the M7 is a fresh Coral Red. The exterior design follows the family design language of the Wenjie brand, with a style similar to the Wenjie M8, while showing noticeable changes in the front compared to the current model. Specifically, the new model adopts a simple closed grille design at the front, with polygonal headlights on both sides, connected by a chrome strip running through the middle. The overall design is highly recognizable. The front bumper features a large trapezoidal air intake with a chrome trim, which adds a sporty and sophisticated look to the vehicle.
On the side, the new car features a lot of curved surfaces, with a waistline running through the body, while the roofline is more level, suggesting that interior space will be more comfortable. Additionally, the new model removes the fully enclosed hidden handles and replaces them with semi-hidden door handles, while adding a chrome decorative strip along the bottom edge of the door, giving the car a more dynamic feel. The new car also introduces multi-spoke wheels for the first time, further enhancing its luxurious appearance. As for the dimensions, the currently available Wenjie M7 has a length, width, and height of 5020/1945/1760mm, with a wheelbase of 2820mm, positioning it as a mid-to-large-size SUV. It is expected that the new car will have a slightly larger size. The official images have not yet revealed the rear view, but previously leaked images show that the rear will feature a new full-width taillight design, with “AITO” in English on the upper part of the taillights and “Wenjie M7 EV” on the tailgate, further increasing the vehicle’s recognition.
As for the interior and powertrain, the official details have not been disclosed yet. For reference, the currently available Wenjie M7 only offers the extended-range version, equipped with a 1.5T range extender. It offers both single-motor and dual-motor power systems. The 1.5T range extender has a maximum power of 112 kW, with the single-motor model providing a motor power of 200 kW, and the dual-motor model offering a total motor power of 330 kW. The pure electric range for the CLTC is 200 km for the single-motor version and 230 km for the dual-motor version.
The Wenjie M7 is the second model under the AITO Wenjie brand, jointly developed by Seres and Huawei. It was first launched in July 2022, with a price range of 249,800 to 329,800 RMB, and is positioned as a mid-to-large-size SUV. In May 2024, the Wenjie M7 Ultra was launched with four variants, priced between 289,800 to 329,800 RMB. The car underwent upgrades in terms of exterior and interior, with the biggest highlight being the upgraded 192-line lidar, enhancing its intelligent driving capabilities. The powertrain remains the same as the previous model’s extended-range system. Retail data shows that in 2024, the Wenjie M7 sold 193,300 units, making it the best-selling model under the HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility brand. In the first half of this year, the Wenjie M7’s cumulative sales reached 33,800 units.
Overall, compared to the current model, the new Wenjie M7 has significant upgrades in both exterior design and power parameters, especially in terms of the powertrain. The new car will offer both extended-range and pure electric options, whereas the current model only offers the extended-range version. The introduction of the pure electric version will provide consumers with more choices. After its launch, the extended-range version of the new model will compete with models such as the Li Auto L6 and Avita 11 extended-range version, while the pure electric version is expected to compete with models like the Xpeng G9. It remains to be seen whether the new Wenjie M7 can continue to drive sales growth for the brand. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section.
