On the evening of September 5th, Geely Galaxy’s all-new model, the Galaxy Star 6, officially made its debut. As part of the Geely Galaxy series, the new car is positioned as a mid-size vehicle. Its biggest highlight is the new-generation Thor AI hybrid 2.0 technology, featuring a 1.5-liter plug-in hybrid powertrain with a maximum power output of 82 kW and an electric-only range of up to 125 kilometers.

Exterior:
The front face of the new model does not adopt the popular closed grille design but retains the traditional intake grille style with an outward-protruding trapezoidal design. The grille is decorated with chrome strips, and the large headlights on both sides, along with multiple muscle lines on the front hood, enhance its sporty appearance. The front bumper features a three-section intake design and integrates silver decorative elements, giving the car a refined visual appeal.
Side Profile:
The side profile features a sleek, fastback design with a continuous waistline that extends from the front headlights to the rear taillights. The curved design at the bottom of the doors adds to the car’s elegant and elongated look. The car avoids the current trend of hidden door handles, opting for traditional ones. The chrome window trim enhances the car’s visual harmony. The car is offered with 16-inch and 17-inch wheel options. In terms of color, it is available in five choices: Misty Blue, Silk Silver, Jade White, Obsidian Black, and Slate Gray. The car’s dimensions are 4806/1886/1490 mm, with a wheelbase of 2756 mm, placing it in the mid-size sedan category. The rear features distinctive, full-width taillights with a “GEELY” badge in the center, enhancing its recognition. The rear bumper has silver diffuser plates on both ends, giving it a more refined and dynamic look. The exhaust is hidden.
Interior:
The interior adopts a new design style with the next-generation Geely Galaxy family layout. It offers three color options: Clear Lake Snow White, Suzhou Warm Brown, and Misty Ink Black. The seats are leather, offering a premium feel. The center console includes a 10.2-inch embedded LCD instrument panel, a 14.6-inch floating center display, a dual-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, and a shift-by-wire gear lever. The car is equipped with the new Galaxy Flyme Auto intelligent cockpit system, an AI assistant, and Geely’s self-developed 7nm automotive-grade chip, showcasing a strong technological appeal. It also retains physical buttons for easy operation. For driver assistance, it features the Qianli Haohan H3 system, supporting functions like high-speed NOA navigation assist and APA automatic parking.
Powertrain:
The new model is powered by the next-generation Thor AI hybrid 2.0 technology, featuring a 1.5-liter engine with a maximum power output of 82 kW. It is equipped with a 17 kWh battery, offering a CLTC electric-only range of 125 km and a CLTC combined range of 1700 km.
Since the establishment of Geely Galaxy in February 2023, the brand has launched a range of models including the E5, E8, L6, L7, Galaxy Xingyuan, Xingjian 7 EM-i, Galaxy Star 8, and Galaxy A7. The models cover various market segments. Notably, the Galaxy A7 was launched on August 8, offering seven variants with an official price range of 89,800 to 125,800 CNY. The Galaxy M9, a flagship large SUV, is expected to launch later this year.
As a new plug-in hybrid mid-size car, the Galaxy Star 6 will fill a product gap in the Geely Galaxy lineup and will compete with models such as the BYD Qin PLUS, Wuling Xingguang PHEV, Changan QiYuan A05, and Changan Eado PHEV. We’ll continue to monitor the price and the new car’s market performance.
