On the evening of September 5, the Legal Department of Arcfox issued a statement. According to the announcement, shortly after Arcfox released a statement on September 1 exposing the Tencent Video account “Dai Qingwei” (ID: sphTfYiBJt1Jalp) for repeatedly publishing false claims against the brand and its products, a new wave of malicious, organized smear posts appeared across platforms such as Toutiao, Xiaohongshu, and Douyin.

These posts targeted the Arcfox T1, fabricating stories such as a so-called “official price-drop plan” (claiming the T1’s price would be slashed after customers placed deposits), “fault analysis reports,” and “delayed launch” rumors. Nearly a hundred such posts appeared daily, misleading the market and damaging the brand’s reputation.
Arcfox’s Response
Arcfox stated it has begun collecting and preserving evidence, while coordinating with platforms to investigate. The company has also commissioned lawyers to issue multiple legal letters to involved parties. Depending on the severity of violations, Arcfox will pursue administrative, civil, or criminal liability through complaints, reports, and lawsuits.
On September 1, Arcfox’s legal department had already declared that it was activating full legal defense mechanisms in response to defamatory content from the aforementioned Tencent Video account. The company emphasized that it will hold relevant entities accountable under the law.
About the Arcfox T1
The Arcfox T1 is a new small all-electric vehicle, unveiled for pre-sale on August 22. Five variants were offered, priced between 68,800 and 93,800 RMB. Within two hours, orders surpassed 11,068 units. The T1 features a rounded exterior, measuring 4,337 × 1,860 × 1,572 mm with a 2,770 mm wheelbase, in a five-seat (2+3) layout. Power comes from a front-mounted single motor available in two outputs (95 kW and 70 kW), paired with 33.4 kWh or 42.3 kWh LFP batteries, giving CLTC ranges of 320 km and 425 km. The official launch is scheduled for September 11.
The Legal Department stressed that no official pricing has been announced yet, so rumors of price cuts are baseless. Likewise, since the model has not yet been delivered, claims of product faults are also false. Arcfox denounced such fabricated content as malicious smear campaigns that severely infringe its commercial reputation and violate fair competition principles.
Industry Context
Arcfox noted that automakers increasingly face online attacks such as defamation, rumor-spreading, and “black PR” smear campaigns. Such behavior misleads consumers, disrupts market order, and causes lasting harm to brands. Automakers are now using official legal channels, including public statements from legal departments, to defend themselves more proactively.
Arcfox reiterated its “zero tolerance” stance toward malicious defamation. It pledged to pursue accountability regardless of how many posts or entities are involved and called on industry peers to reject “smear tactics as competition,” instead competing fairly through technological innovation and service improvements.
