On July 30th, multiple media outlets reported that Chen Zhen, President of Avita Technology, revealed at the first media communication meeting of China Changan Automobile Group that the company is smoothly and steadily advancing the Hi Plus model with Huawei. Nearly 1,000 joint team members from both companies have settled at Avita’s Chongqing headquarters, and the first jointly created product is expected to launch in the second half of next year.

Avita Technology Co., Ltd., formerly known as Changan NIO New Energy Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd., was established in July 2018 and was renamed Avita Technology in May 2021. It became a brand under Changan Automobile, jointly developed by Changan Automobile, CATL, and Huawei. On August 24, 2021, Changan Automobile officially released the Avita brand, positioning it as a high-end automotive brand. Changan is responsible for vehicle design and production, CATL handles battery supply, and Huawei cooperates deeply using the HI (Huawei Inside) model, providing a full-stack solution including intelligent cockpit and intelligent driving.
Since its inception, Avita has launched four models: the Avita 11, Avita 12, Avita 07, and Avita 06. The Avita 11 was launched in August 2022, positioned as a pure electric mid-size SUV with a price range of 279,900 to 429,900 RMB. The Avita 12 was launched in November 2023, positioned as a luxury mid-large pure electric sedan with a price range of 269,900 to 700,000 RMB. The Avita 07 was launched in September 2024, positioned as a mid-size SUV with a price range of 219,900 to 289,900 RMB. The Avita 06 was launched in April this year, positioned as a mid-size sedan with a price range of 209,900 to 279,900 RMB. Retail data shows that in the first half of this year, the best-selling model from Avita was the Avita 07, with 24,900 units sold, followed by the Avita 06 with 17,200 units. The Avita 12 and Avita 11 sold 9,986 and 1,960 units, respectively.
From 2022 to 2024, Avita Technology reported net losses of 2.015 billion RMB, 3.693 billion RMB, and 4.018 billion RMB, respectively, accumulating losses close to 10 billion RMB over three years. According to the financial report, in 2024, Avita Technology’s revenue was 15.348 billion RMB, with a net loss of 4.018 billion RMB. Changan Automobile stated that due to new product launches and product upgrades, Avita’s sales have increased and product profitability is gradually improving. However, to further enrich the product matrix, the company has maintained high investments in product development, brand promotion, and channel construction, leading to continued losses. In simple terms, although Avita is backed by three giants—Changan Automobile, CATL, and Huawei—its market sales are not ideal. According to the plan, Avita aims to launch 17 new models by 2030, covering segments such as MPVs and sports cars.
On July 29th, China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd. held a launch ceremony to officially announce its establishment. By 2030, the new Changan Group plans to achieve vehicle sales of 5 million units, with new energy vehicles accounting for over 60% and overseas sales accounting for over 30%.
