On June 29, Leapmotor officially opened pre-sales for its brand-new mid-size sedan—the Leapmotor B01.
The new model offers five variants, with pre-sale prices ranging from 105,800 to 135,800 RMB.

The Leapmotor B01 is the second model based on Leapmotor’s B platform and the first sedan under this platform, built on the LEAP 3.5 technology architecture. Notably, the first B-series model—the Leapmotor B10—was launched on April 10. Positioned as a compact SUV, the B10 is also based on the LEAP 3.5 architecture, featuring a brand-new exterior and interior design. It is available in five variants, priced between 99,800 and 129,800 RMB.

Exterior Design
The B01 inherits the design language of the B10. The front adopts a closed grille flanked by slim headlamps with the same triple-light-source design as the B10, enhancing recognition while visually broadening the front fascia. The trapezoidal air intake on the lower bumper adds a sportier touch.
From the side, the B01 features smooth coupe-style lines, a two-stage waistline, flush door handles, and straight window lines that curve upward toward the rear. The blacked-out B/C pillars and window trim further highlight its sporty attributes. Eight body colors are offered, seven of which are shared with the B10, along with a brand-new “Morgan Pink.”

At the rear, the car sports a clean and powerful look. The through-type taillight cluster with triple-light-source design echoes the front styling. A “LEAPMOTOR” badge is placed at the center, boosting recognition. The rear bumper receives a smoked finish, with reflector strips on both sides and a subtle ducktail spoiler to enhance the layered look.
In terms of dimensions, the B01 measures 4770/1880/1490 mm (length/width/height) with a wheelbase of 2735 mm. For comparison, the BYD Qin PLUS EV measures 4795 (or 4765)/1837/1515 mm with a 2718 mm wheelbase.

Interior
The cabin comes in two color schemes: Phantom Purple and Light Gray. Seats are upholstered in bamboo-charcoal-fiber fabric for a stylish look. A 14.6-inch 2.5K central control screen pairs with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 cockpit chip and running Leapmotor OS 4.0 PLUS.
The dual-spoke steering wheel features a two-tone design with multifunction buttons and scroll wheels. A stalk-mounted gear selector is adopted, and the center console eliminates physical buttons for a cleaner, more practical layout.

Powertrain
The B01 is purely electric, available with two motor options rated at 132 kW and 160 kW. It offers two battery packs—56.2 kWh and 67.1 kWh—providing CLTC ranges of 550 km and 650 km respectively.

Market Outlook
Leapmotor’s current lineup includes the C11, T03, C16, C10, C01, and B10. According to the brand’s roadmap, three B-series models will launch this year: the compact SUV B10, the mid-size sedan B01, and the upcoming B05. Additionally, Leapmotor’s flagship D-series is expected to enter mass production in Q1 2026, as disclosed by founder Zhu Jiangming.

From January to May this year, Leapmotor delivered a total of 173,658 vehicles—a year-on-year increase of 160.83%. This represents 34.73% of its annual sales target of 500,000 units.
By model, the C10 led sales with 44,351 units, followed by the C11 (38,246 units), T03 (24,794 units), and C16 (24,178 units). The B10, launched only recently, has already sold 13,403 units, including 10,105 in May alone—an impressive performance for a new model.

Competition
Given its positioning and pre-sale pricing, the B01 will compete directly with models like the Xpeng MONA M03 and BYD Qin PLUS EV. How much the B01 will contribute to Leapmotor’s overall sales will likely depend on its final retail price—an answer that will be revealed soon.
