Renault Group Announces Executive Reshuffle

On September 1, French automaker Renault Group announced a series of executive changes and organizational restructuring. This comes one month after François Provost took over as the new CEO of the group.

According to official information, the leadership changes will affect various brand management positions within Renault Group as well as key functions at the corporate level. Fabrice Cambolive, who continues as the CEO of the Renault brand, will also take on the role of Chief Growth Officer for Renault Group while remaining a member of the leadership team. In this role, he will oversee the Renault and Dacia brands, ensuring strategic alignment and maximizing market revenue. Additionally, Cambolive will be responsible for expanding the group’s international business, focusing on markets such as India, Latin America, and South Korea. He will also integrate digitalization, marketing, dealership networks, after-sales service, and Renault Group’s own retail channels, closely collaborating with financial services to provide customers with a seamless, end-to-end experience.

Katrin Adt will take over as the CEO of the Dacia brand and report to the new Chief Growth Officer. Philippe Brunet will become the Chief Technical Officer, overseeing engineering and technical operations for both Renault Group and Ampere, leading the next phase of transformation in Renault Group’s engineering and R&D. Anthony Plouvier has been appointed Chief Purchasing Officer, having previously served as Vice President of Purchasing Strategy and Transformation. Thierry Charvet will expand his current responsibilities, which include industrial and quality operations, to include supply chain management while continuing as a member of the leadership team. Claire Fanget will serve as the Chief Human Resources Officer, succeeding Bruno Laforge, who has left the company. Fanget previously led human resources for the Renault brand and will join the leadership team. Christian Stein will take on the role of Chief Communications Officer, becoming part of Renault Group’s leadership team.

On June 15, 2025, Renault Group CEO Luca de Meo announced that he would step down from the role effective July 15. François Provost succeeded him as CEO on July 31. As Renault Group CEO, Provost will also continue to oversee partnerships and public affairs.

According to the financial report, Renault Group’s revenue for the first half of 2025 amounted to €27.64 billion, a 2.5% year-on-year increase. Automotive business revenue was €24.49 billion, a 0.5% increase, with an operating profit of €1.653 billion, representing 6.0% of revenue. The automotive division’s operating profit stood at €989 million. Net profit was €500 million (excluding Nissan’s impact). In terms of sales, Renault Group’s global sales in the first half of 2025 totaled 1.1698 million vehicles, up 1.3% year-on-year. The Renault brand alone sold 808,000 vehicles globally. At the time, new CEO Provost commented, “In a challenging market environment, our performance in the first half of the year did not meet expectations, but we have implemented a series of measures to ensure that our full-year goals will be met.” Due to weak demand in the European market, increasing trade tensions, and growing competition from Chinese car manufacturers, Renault Group has revised its performance outlook for the year, reducing its operating profit margin from at least 7% to around 6.5%, and lowering its free cash flow forecast from a minimum of €2 billion to a range of €1-1.5 billion.

Regarding the leadership team changes, Provost stated, “To meet future challenges, we need to build an organization that is more responsive in decision-making, more efficient in execution, and closer to our customers. This leadership reshuffle brings together a team of experienced industry professionals with strong expertise and the management capabilities needed to drive transformation.” Renault Group also stated, “This strategic personnel adjustment reflects Renault Group’s determination to accelerate its transformation, create value, and achieve its sustainable mobility goals.”
