On August 8, Voyah (Lantu) Auto released several exterior images of its flagship sedan, the Voyah Chasing Light L, on its official Weibo account. The pictures reveal that the new model adopts a large front grille flanked by split-style headlights, giving the vehicle a striking and impactful appearance. According to available information, the wheelbase exceeds 3 meters, and the car will officially debut later this year. Notably, just days earlier, the Voyah Chasing Light L appeared in the 398th batch of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s New Product Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products, completing its registration process—signaling that its launch is imminent.

Exterior Design
The Chasing Light L introduces a brand-new design language. At the front, it features a large frameless grille decorated with vertical slats, with a blackened Voyah logo in the center that becomes highly recognizable when illuminated. The lower bumper has a through-type intake opening that visually widens the car’s stance and enhances the layered look of the front end. At the rear, the smoked through-type taillights echo the front’s lighting design, creating a modern and premium appearance. Optional rear badges include “Chasing Light L” and “ADS.” The car also offers dual-tone paint options, with consumers able to choose between gold or silver grille finishes.
Body and Dimensions
The car adopts a fastback silhouette with smooth, flowing lines. It comes equipped with hidden door handles and multi-spoke wheels, with optional 20-inch “flat disc” wheels paired with 245/45 R20 tires. Based on declaration data, the model is positioned as a mid-to-large sedan, measuring 5125 × 1985 × 1522 (1505) mm with a 3010 mm wheelbase. The vehicle will also be equipped with Huawei’s QianKun ADS 4.0 advanced driver-assistance system.
Powertrain
The Chasing Light L will be offered with a 1.5T dual-motor plug-in hybrid system and a dual-motor four-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid system, with a maximum engine output of 110 kW. The drive motors reach peak outputs of 150 kW and 230 kW. It uses ternary lithium batteries supplied by SVOLT. In terms of competition, once launched, it will rival the Tesla Model 3, Xiaomi SU7, and Avatr 12. For reference, the current Voyah Chasing Light is priced between 252,800 and 385,900 RMB.
Brand Background and Market Context
Voyah is Dongfeng Motor’s premium new energy brand, originally a division within the group before being rebranded in 2020. The brand carries the strategic mission of driving Dongfeng’s electrification transition. However, its market presence has been relatively weak despite launching models like the Voyah FREE and the Voyah Dreamer.
In January last year, Voyah announced a partnership with Huawei to accelerate smart tech adoption. The collaboration bore fruit with the new Dreamer launched in September, which came equipped with Huawei’s QianKun ADS 3.0 system and HarmonyOS cockpit. Backed by Huawei, sales improved noticeably: from September to November last year, Dreamer’s monthly sales rose from 5,400 units to over 10,000.
Currently, Voyah’s lineup includes the FREE, Dreamer, Chasing Light, Zhiyin, and FREE+. The FREE+ was launched on July 12 with a price range of 219,900–279,900 RMB. The brand’s official annual sales target is 200,000 units, but as of now, only 68,263 units have been sold in 2025, achieving 34.13% of the target. With the Chasing Light L’s launch later this year, sales are expected to rise, though reaching the full-year target will remain challenging.
